“Yosemite is wonderful every time of year!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The staff, rangers and accommodations are great and the nature is AMAZING!!!

The Lodge is a great place to stay in the valley, free wifi, food right across the way, ranging from a food court to fancy restaurant and even a sports bar. And it's only a 15 minute walk from Yosemite Falls!

My biggest recommendation is to take a rangers walk - they are awesome! Most of all see: Ranger Shelton Johnson who is a nature rock star! I've been going to Yosemite for over 40 years and took my first nature walk this January, and now can't wait til I go again and take a nature walk every day (and try one of the night walks!)

As soon as we leave Yosemite, I begin to miss it, and to plan my next trip :-)

Room Tip: meadow view rooms at The Lodge are the best!

I stayed at the Lodge for two nights during one of the Chefs Holidays events. My four travel companions all stayed at the Ahwahnee (where the events were held). But frankly, I'm glad I saved $300 and stayed at the Lodge. Accommodations are clean and comfortable and I had a beautiful view of Upper Yosemite Falls from my balcony. I did hear people in the next room one night, but when I turned on my TV, I couldn't hear them anymore. The staff is extremely accommodating and welcoming. Dining options aren't great -- the Food Court is all pre-prepared food. But since there's a mini-fridge in the room, I chose to shop at the market in Yosemite Village for breakfast/lunch food and skip the Food Court. At this time of year, I don't think the Lodge fills to capacity, so it's quiet and peaceful. I walked miles and took the very convenient shuttle buses everywhere else. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a 'view' room.

Staying at Yosemite Lodge is to opportunity to experience nature and wilderness in the comfort of lovely lodging with a wide range of amenities and services. This property has something for everybody from relaxation and comfort to a way-station for the wilderness adventurer passing through. While the walls are a little thin, life is not perfect and the Lodge gets as close to perfection in the wilderness as you can get without breaking the bank account. A great value for the money. My favorite reason for loving the Lodge is it's close proximity to excellent hiking, biking, restaurants, shopping and Yosemite Village.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony or patio. Those rooms tend to look over the meadows and forest and yo...

Behind the front desk near the swimming pool and bicycl rental-Yippee-is a 2 story building and upper floor has great view of "backside" Yosemite Falls and reflection pond!!
Also ground floor rooms on Yosemite (noisy) Creek, east of pool are my second favorite.

"Must"#1 tour is the open air, no walls, no ceiling, 70 bench seat slow "Valley Tour" trailer/tram for about $25/adult and 2 hours Still !! If they weather is bad they go an enclosed bus, which I would cancel on as it is not even close to same experience.

Second "Must" tour leaving the YL is the Spring (full moon nights) "Moonlight Valley Tour", book way in advance and demand they add 2nd and 3rd and 4th vehicles for high demand , after dinner, in the dark , double rainbows in the waterfalls!! is a "MUST" and dress warm hat coat gloves as hot chocolate was included.

The third "must" tour , may be discontinued in 2015, is the book from YL, open air tram tour of the Mariposa Grove of GIGANTIC MTN REDWOODS at the SW-fresno gate.
Fantastic tours!!!, very unique are all 3 from Yosemite Lodge.

If you are a bench lunch in the park-valley and leave tourist, please disregard my good advice.

So beautiful....but cold for So Cal folks. Wonderful warm room with plenty of Hot water for showers. Park your car and always use Shuttle Buses. Be sure to bring camera, critters are abundant. Always go on a hike even hot or cold weather.

We enjoyed a stay at Yosemite Lodge for several days on a California roadtrip.

Compared to the Ahwahnee Hotel nearby, Yosemite Lodge was great value for in-park lodging and fulfilled our needs. We were 3 adults and stayed in the Bunk room which had a Queen bed plus a Double/Single bunk bed. It was plenty of room for the 3 of us and included a balcony overlooking the Meadows, which we particularly enjoyed. Rooms on the other side of the building might have had a view of the Falls (but only maybe), but they also overlooked the carpark area. We were very happy with our view and the room.

Breakfast options are extremely limited, only available at the FoodCourt. Pastries were stale and hot food was mostly pre-prepared and kept warm. We ordered fried eggs and those were fresh, but the hash browns were inedible. Coffee from the urns was some of the worst I’ve ever tasted, though I’m not particularly fond of urn coffee at the best of times. Espresso coffee was only available until 11am, so I had to settle.

Dinner on the other hand was delicious, eaten at the Mountain Room restaurant both nights. Of course, it was more expensive than the FoodCourt, but it was money well-spent for us.

Room Tip: We stayed in Hemlock building overlooking the meadow. Great view, quiet and private.

Nice to be located in the center of the Valley, you can walk and bus everywhere! Clean room. The cost of the rooms are fine if you fill the room. But over-priced for just 2 people! It can be noisy since you can hear the people in the next room.

Room Tip: If you walk in, try to bargin and get the price down.
