The lodge is The perfect place to stay . The view of the falls is breathtaking. Its pricey for a very average accomodation but i guess you pay premium for the location and the view. I didnt give 5 star because the rooms needs some update.

We stayed one night at the Lodge on Sept 19, 2014. It was an excellent lodging and we would return any time they had a vacancy. Be aware, the place runs fully reserved months in advance. The adjacent Mountain Resort restaurant is excellent, too. The other eating spot, a food court, is good. Location is good.

Room Tip: Would be a "first choice" lodging if you want to stay in Yosemite Valley but there are bet...

Lodging inside the park is extremely hard to come by, we booked a few months in advance and availability was already quite limited at that time (even though September is not peak season!). We visited a few sights on the way to the lodge and arrived shortly after their check-in time (which is surprisingly late at 5pm). We were allocated a room in the Cottonwood building, which is single story. Wifi was free of charge and worked most of the time, but sometimes was quite slow (it was better in common areas).

The room is of a 3-star standard (at best). A key concern of mine prior to arrival was the lack of air conditioning. However, this was not an issue (although it may have been during peak summer months). You have a ceiling fan and a portable fan and we made use of both of these. You are also able to open the windows on both sides of the room, and there is mesh netting in place, allowing you to get a cross ventilation, but not having to worry about wildlife entering the room. I’m not sure how this arrangement differs between the different buildings. Being September, there were also no bugs/insects around.

The food court is within the hotel premises and serves all three meals. We had breakfast included in our rate, which actually translated to a voucher credit to use at the food court. This credit was sufficient for a good sized breakfast. There was a huge variety on offer, and the food was ‘ok’. I suppose you shouldn’t expect too much, given the location! We did have dinners at Mountain Room and El Tovar, which were both decent and certainly a lot better than the food court (separate reviews).

In terms of location, this was as prime as it gets. Being able to stay here and access all the beautiful attractions of Yosemite really made life so much more convenient. The lodge itself was fairly basic, but good enough for a short stay, and I would certainly consider staying here again in future.

Great staff, very comfortable.. Internet connection spotty but available. Dining room closes at 8:30 and gift shop closes at 8:00pm. Great location, park your car and take the free shuttle, comes every 15 min. Bring a reusable water bottle and refill at filling stations around the valley!

Room Tip: Book 1 year and 1 day in advance

there are few places on God's green earth as splendid as Yosemite, but be prepared to empty your wallet if you are staying overnight in the lodges. Consider a stay at El Portal of the Tanaya Lodge outside the park.

Room Tip: request one either one side or the other of all the buildings

Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is one of the few places to stay in Yosemite. The lodge has many buildings. We stayed in Cedar in the "family" room. This was a very large room that sleeps 6 comfortably. It was clean, up-dated and served our needs well. The only complaint about the lodge would be the staff at the front desk upon check in. They don't make you feel very welcome or that they appreciate your business.

Such a bad experience booking reservation - female receptionist surly, miserable and rude - so disappointing that we decided to stay at narrow gauge inn instead - delightful and friendly staff make all the difference!
