“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

My husband and I stayed for three nights.

The location of the B and B is wonderful. You are surrounded by trees and when you look out from the balcony at the top of the property it gives you a feeling that you are in a tree house.

There are tea and coffee making facilities in the communal lounge, soft drinks and biscuits. The breakfasts were good. Make sure that you eat before getting to the B and B as there is nothing local that you can walk to and the nearest restaurant is about 30 minutes drive away. This is not surprising as you are staying in a park.

The rooms were spotless and even had a rucksack in the wardrobe to use when you are walking together with a lots laminated maps for the local area.

Karen who owns the B and B was brilliant at advising us where to walk, things to do and where to eat and this certainly helped us have a wonderful time in Yosemite. She even gave us water bottles as we did not have enough.

We would recommend a stay here to anyone.

“Wonderful stay - Karen is a terrific host!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Just returned from three days at the High Sierra B&B; it's a wonderful find. It is a bit outside town and you do have to be careful on the winding roads, but we had no problem locating it even in the dark using Karen's directions. Note that the 88 steps will be illuminated as you climb them, so even if they seem a bit dark, just start climbing and you'll be fine (and unless you have really heavy luggage, not even all that winded). The place is super clean and has a very nice and welcoming kitchen area where you have breakfast in the a.m., tea/coffee/drinks/cookies at any time, and can store a few picnic items in the fridge (which was VERY helpful to us). Karen is a wonderful host and I would reiterate what many other reviewers have noted - she is basically your own private concierge and has many excellent recommendations, which she'll tailor to your interests and travel plans. I hope we make it back to Yosemite someday and are still able to get a reservation here - my guess is that it will only grow in popularity!

“Worth the Spend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

The best thing about this B&B is the owner - Karen. She is a fantastic resource for all things Yosemite; she even lets you borrow maps and binoculars! The rooms are super clean and breakfast is really yummy! Plan for 20-30 minutes to get to Yosemite Valley.

“5 Circles!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

One of the reasons we like staying at B & B's is because generally the owners are usually very helpful. Karen did not disappoint. It was like having your own personal tour guide of the park. Her recommendations were spot on and she was super helpful. The B & B was probably one of the cleanest that I've stayed at. 5 Circles Excellent!

“Bob made the difference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

This was the first time my wife and I ever stayed at a bed and breakfast, so we were a bit apprehensive. I am reluctant to give a stellar review because i know it will make it even harder to get a reservation for next year. but i must be honest. this place is wonderful. it is clean, purpose built and well located within the valley. Most importantly, the proprietors make it extra special. if you have never been to Yosemite, like us, it is a bit overwhelming. Bob and his two teen age daughters know the valley like the back of their hand and it was like having a personal consierge at your service, constantly guiding you in the right direction, making sure you made the most of your limited time in the valley. they really care about their guests. Bob was always available at the start and end of the day to answer questions and point you in the right direction for the following day. I can't imagine this is the typical bed and breakfast. Bob has spoiled us for any place else and we look forward to returning in the future.
