Cabins are located very close to Old Faithful Geyser -- guess about 200 yards.
Cabin was small, but included a double and single bed (3 of us stayed in cabin). In addition to the beds, there was a small writing desk and chair. Our cabin did have a bathroom (shower and toilet) but note that the sink is in the bedroom. Cabin certainly had limited number of electrical outlets, no hair dryer, no TV, spotty cell service and no AC. But…. so what? We were in Yellowstone so no big deal on not having TV and cell service as quite frankly being on vacation and getting away from TV and phone was pleasant. In the evening we walked the geyser basin trails, watched for wildlife, visited Old Faithful Inn and Old Faithful Lodge rather than watching TV.
As for no AC, though it may get warm in the cabin during the day, with summer nights in the 40’s, it didn’t take long for the cabin to cool down and make for a pleasant night’s sleep.
For dinner options, there are multiple choices available at the Lodge and Inn – cafeteria style, dining room or counter service. In addition to the dining areas, there is a General Store at the Old Faithful area where you can pick up foodstuffs (milk, bread, lunchmeat, cereal, etc.)
Parking was right outside the cabin so loading and unloading was quite easy.
Great location and would definitely stay again.
