“Hold your nose and take the walk”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

Go clockwise on the boardwalk trail as the smell seems to follow the steam from these geysers. Don't look for beauty here, just very different geysers. Yes, the hype relative to the "dragon" is just that, you have to use your imagination for full effect. The trail is steep in places. If I had missed this one I would not have had any regrets. There was a Bison resting on the side of one of the geysers at the top of the boardwalk.

“Kids liked it and the walk didn't kill us.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

The geysers all started to look and smell alike after a short time but, the kids liked this one and it was a short walk around the boardwalk to see several different specimens.

“Hear it before you see it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

You can hear the hissing and gurgling before you even see the opening. Steam and water constantly belch from the "mouth" of the dragon. I actually expected to see a dragon emerge from the opening. Great site at Yellowstone.

“Wow!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Dragon's Mouth Springs was the most interesting spring in the whole park. The eerie feeling that you get when you first hear the sound that it makes before you can see it makes you wonder what you are going to see. When you approach it, you see where it gets it's name. If you use your imagination you will think that a dragon is going to come crawling out of this cave any minute. It was fascinating! When people ask what was the favorite thing that I saw in the park, my answer is the Dragon Mouth Spring. Make sure you experience it for yourself.

“Dragons in Yellowstone?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

Dragon's Mouth Springs is one of the hydrothermal features of the Mud Volcano area closest to the parking lot. It's basically steam – or rather, dragon smoke – wafting out from the dark recesses of a small cave. The water that bubbles out reaches up to 180 degrees and is home to lots of colorful algae that thrives in high temperatures. It's definitely a smaller attraction in the Geyser Basin but worth a peek. The boardwalk is easy to navigate for young and old.
