“Stay here if you have to...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012 via mobile

On arrival, front desk woman was angry about us waking her up (it was 11pm). Room smelled bad. AC was noisy. Windows were painted shut, and one of the bedspreads had what appeared to be bloodstains on it. And it wasn't that cheap either!

When we arrived, the smell in the room was overwhelming! They must have used an entire can of air freshener. We had to leave the door open about a half hour in order to breath. When the air freshener scent mellowed, we could smell the stale smoke (which is why we assumed the air freshener). The air conditioner, which in 38 to 40 c was a requirement, not a luxury, blew a fuse as soon as we turned it on. That was fixed quickly, and according to the staff person, happens often. Apparently we were not to run the air, fridge, lights, and TV at the same time.

All night the air conditioner was rattling and banging like a Nickelback drum solo, (and a bad one). If it wasn't the air making noise, flushing the toilet was the icing on the cake. It sounded like a jet taking off, and ran on for at least 20 minutes. each flush.

The tile in the bathroom was cracked in many places, and I stubbed my toe very badly.

The pictures posted of the motel must have been taken a long time ago.

We could not bare to stay another night, and asked for our money back. Because we booked on expedia, we were told that they could not refund our money for leaving early, and we were SOL!!! They had a bad attitude and could care less. We left anyways....

We have travelled extensively, and have had great and not so great experiences, but none so bad that we would bother to write a negative review, until now. We are a normal couple, with average expectations, and being able to breathe in your room, and have a decent nights rest is definitely on our priority list.

We booked a queen-bed in early July for the July 27-28 weekend through Orbitz for the Starlite motel. When we arrived at the hotel late on on first night (11pm), we found a parking lot full of trucks/boats. When we went into the office, we were told that someone had called and cancelled our reservation on the 23rd. The hotel manager said Orbitz cancelled the reservation, and Orbitz said that the hotel cancelled the reservation. The manager offered us a king-bed room w/ jacuzzi tub -- at double the cost of our original reservation. We felt *very ripped off*. It was late and we needed a room. But we definitely did not stay a 2nd night. As for the room itself, it was merely adequate at best. It's a place to lay your head down. Don't reward bad business practices and stay somewhere else if you can.

Room Tip: If you insist on staying here, I would advise confirming your reservation the day of your arrival.

Out here on the 4th of July weekend for work and everything was booked. Ended up finding this place and booked 5 rooms for myself and coworkers. The rooms are what you can expect for a non-chain motel but were clean and comfortable. We usually stay at a holiday inn or other hotel but given the time of year and last minute booking this place was acceptable. What made the stay great was the motel manager Manny. He was friendly and actually hung out with us both nights we were in town. Anything we needed he was right there with advice on where to eat, room upgrades, and all around good company. We travel a lot and never have I seen such excellent customer service. The price was reasonable for what we got but what really made the stay memorable was Manny. Thanks again for making a work weekend enjoyable for everyone in the crew. I would definitely come back here again because of Manny's welcoming personality and the value.

Very Clean motel. It doesn't look like much from the outside, ever hear, don't judge a book by its cover? This motel is a good example! The room was immaculate, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, and hair driver. The bathroom was very clean. Manny, the manager is also very nice :)

Clean motel, moderately price, good location and friendly staff. Can't beat this motel for an over night stay. The manager "Manny" treated us like family, he even called after we checked in to make sure everything was okay with the room.
We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Try the jaccuzzi rooms, we did not know about them until after we checked in. Very nice.

This is a nice clean motel. I had a little problem getting the a/c to work. This was not the fault of the motel it was me. The owner came right over and resolved it. With the fact he had other customers, we were treated like the only ones. We stayed two nights May 20, 21 and would stay here again.
