I have stayed at the Sheraton Premiere several times over the past year. The only reason we keep coming back is because it is so close to my mother's house. The first time we stayed we had a wonderful time, maybe that is because we arrived so late and checked out so early. I have to admit the video check out is nice if all your charges are correct.
Since we enjoyed our inital stay and the proximity to my mom's house we decided to stay there again the beginning of May (2005). This time we would be bringing our 5 year old nephew and 8 year old niece. Again we would be checking in rather late due to a 5 hour road trip from our home. We were guaranteed a tower room. When we checked in were highly disappointed to find our room was on the lobby floor. We were already frustrated after spending 25 minutes looking for parking since the top deck and lower deck were all filled. We finally decided to make a space that we weren't sure if it was parking space into one. To make matters worse once we checked in they put us on the same floor as the prom niters. They had their doors opened, furniture in the hallways. Being loud and using profanity. My niece pointed this out. We got to our room to find that it was really small and had no place for a cot for my niece. (Since they only had a king, and we requested doubles, we were sending my nephew to my mother's house.) It was really loud and there was no way we could have slept even if there was room for a cot. We called the front desk to complain. They said that they had no rooms left due to Ballroom Dancing competition also happening on the same weekend and some type Aquatic Therapy training. So we left. Since they hadn't charged our card yet, even though we supposedly prepaid, we went to the Marriott down the road. By this time it was 11:30pm and we had just driven 5 hours. My niece was very disappointed. She thought it was the most beautiful hotel she had seen and was so excited to be staying there. We told her we would try to stay there the next night. Maybe it would be better.
We decided to stay their our last night to make it up to our niece and nephew. Before I was committed to this I spoke to the hotels manager and explained what happen the night before. They promised we would guaranteed a tower room (22nd floor). Wonderful we thought. The staff was accomodating. However, parking was horrible again due to all the events. After going to our room we noticed no cot. We requested twice before they brought it up. To calm our nerves we decided to take the kids for a dip in the pool. That is all we wanted to do. Once we got down there we learned that it was closed for the Aquatic Therapy training. We were not told of this when i called earlier or when we checked in. I had two crying children and pool to go to. We were told that the pool would be open for one hour between 9-10pm. Although this was past the kids bedtime we decided to make an exception. We were so tired of jumping hotels we decided to stick it out.
Then on our last visit, two weeks after the secong one, May 13, I spoke to the manager again who reassured us that we would not be stuck on the lobby floors and even said he had a room blocked for us. We were arriving late in the evening. I have to say he kept his word and had a beautiful view of Tysons on the 23rd floor. Our stay was enjoyable until we checked out. We were charged for a cot which we did not need this time. And a couple days later I found they charged me for a meal that we supposedly ordered after we checked out. And they charged it to a card I used to make my reservation but did not check out with. I had to argue with the business department to get this removed. After I was assured the charge would be credited back to me it wasn't. It took me an additional call to the supervisor and filing a claim with my credit card company. This will be my last visit to the Sheraton Premiere . From now I will just stay a little further from my mothers, but, hopefully have a nicer experience.
