Staff is very friendly, good value if you book in advance, & bed was comfortable. However, I could only see half of the flatscreen TV from bed. No restaurant, but they do have a food bar (for breakfast & hors d'oeuvres) as well as a snack convenience center. Pretty much a no frills hotel & their regular rate of $250/night is really expensive. By booking & paying a month in advance, I was able to cut the rate down to $150/night.

Picked this hotel because it was close to the Metro. Asked staff for any advice on using the Metro and they were very informative. Metro was partially closed, but they explained how they bused people where it was closed. Also, they let us leave our car in the hotels parking garage after we checked out that morning. No parking worries, just walked across the street to the Metro, knowing our car was safe.

During the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy we were left without power and a cold front we were not ready for. Needing a warm place for the night was essential. Upon arrival the staff was very accommodating upgrading us to a King suite so my son could spread out and prepare for his final presentation due the next morning. The hours for the food cafe was perfect, open until 10pm. The morning breakfast was fast and also well made. Love the streamlined hotel lobby that Marriott Courtyard has come up with. Easy to navigate and has everything you would need to run out the door. Metro is right on the next block making it very accessible to downtown DC.

My only complaint was the noise coming from the busy street (Gallows Road) below. The rush hour traffic started at 5:30am and it sounded as if our window was open, it was loud. Had I stayed another night, I would have requested a room on the north facing side (nearest the metro) away from Gallows road. Perhaps the maintainence crew could check the seals in the bedroom window of unit 702. Could have been a result of something as simple as that.

Although we were warned, the pull-out couch is not big enough for a 5'6'' teen. I was warned, but this was the first time we noticed our little teen just cannot fit on a double sofa couch anymore. :(

We stayed here for a parents' weekend trip to our daugter's college. Hotel was right across the commuter parking lot from the metro, which gave us great access to DC.

The only trouble was the metro shut down for repairs one station away while we were there. Had to take the metro, then a bus, then back on the metro. However, that wasn't the hotel's fault- just bring it up as a warning for those who want an inexpensive hotel whiel vsiting DC, be sure to check metro's construction schedule!

My experience with this hotel was consistent with most of my stays at courtyard. It was clean, staff was friendly, room was well appointed and clean as well. Bed was exceptionally comfortable!

Rate was great- $79/night- when DC hotel rates for the same category of hotel were double and triple that amount the weekend we visited.

Would definitely recommend- when the metro is running, it's only about a 20 minute ride to midtown DC.

Hotel is located in a high-rise commuter area, so there's not much around it within walking distance, but since we were going into DC all day, each day, this wasn't an issue for our visit.
