Thai food prepared with a light touch, vegetables crisp, great flavour. Super friendly staff.

Thai Pilin used to be our favorite Thai restaurant in Northern Virginia. However, the price of the food has been increasing while the quantity and quality of the food decreased. Even my friends at work stopped ordering carry out from them. There is nothing spectacular about the restaurant, it is your typical hole in the wall. The looks of the place never bothered me except now that the food quantity and quality has changed, The wait staff (man wearing glasses) is rude.

This is some of the best Thai food I've ever had, and I eat at a dozen Thai restaurants in the DC/NoVA area on a regular basis. This is one of a 3 way tie I have for best in the area. I caution that if you don't do spicy, then this may not be the place for you. Some places, like Busara down the street, put 3 chili peppers on a menu item and you'll never feel it. This place doesn't need chili peppers on a menu to tell you you'll need an extra glass of water and still order the same thing next time because it's that good. Drunken noodles, peanut shrimp and chicken, it's all delicious. Sit at the back to avoid the lunch line and enjoy the pretty art on the wall or go to the Falls Church location if you're looking for a bigger restaurant feel.

This looks like a little take-out place in a strip mall, but it's fantastic. Service is fast and friendly. Staff is knowledgeable and full of good ideas if you don't have your own. Basil dishes are really really good. Menu is extensive, and there IS take-out if you prefer, which, if you're staying in a hotel nearby, is a really good bet.
Pretty much no atmosphere, and tables and chairs cannot be described as comfy.
Prices are reasonable, although not rock-bottom.
