“Fresh Margaritas - Delish!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

This is the place to have drinks with friends. Not a very big restaurant and the menu is not too large. Highly recommend the Passion Fruit Margarita and the Trio of Tacos (you can mix your order with Pork Carnitas, Grilled Portobello Mushroom, and Grilled Fish). The chips and salsas that they serve when you first arrive are fresh and home made. However, you must also order their Guacamole. I seriously can hang out at this small restaurant all afternoon with friends!

“Not your Mama's Mexican Restaurant!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Loved the food, there just isn't enough of it for the money. Plus they charge $4 for extra tortillas for your fajitas. However, they serve possibly the best salsas and chips and fried fish tacos in the DC metro area. Take a friend on a margarita date -- order the blood orange version or the passion fruit and a variety of their tacos at the bar and call it a night!! This is not the place to share huge platters of food -- but if you are willing to spend more than you are used to for Mexican fare, you won't be disappointed.

“Upbeat, tasty, busy - great vibe. What's not to like?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Have a margarita while waiting for your table. Small interior where you can easily converse with the people next to you - we garnered meal recommendations and succeeded. The bartenders mix great drinks; use your credit card or you'll have no cash remaining to buy dinner!
The carne asada is superb, service is fluid and immediately attentive - the wait staff help each other out with ease. The taco trio will spark your taste buds. Walk Church street after dinner. The clock shop is next door, and the chocolatier, Persian bakery, and great iced deserts are just a few minutes walk after dinner. If you come during happy hour the margaritas are half price. Worth the time adjust! Very good + overall, excellent if the drinks were just a little less expensive or 50% larger. BRAVO.

“Best guacamole in the DC area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Love this little place! The guacamole and chips are the way to start every meal. Or have this with some margaritas for your meal. The serving is ample and perfectly seasoned. Notice that every table orders guacamole? It's no wonder why. Also, the street tacos, available with chicken, steak, shrimp or fish, are right on the mark. In fact, the fish taco is, like the guacamole, a must-have. This is how Real fish tacos are supposed to be made, with a golden crisp wedge of fish served simply with a touch of spicy sauce in a warm corn tortilla. Now that Allegria takes reservations, better make one if you plan to go. The word is out about this downtown Vienna gem.

“Best Mexican We've Had In DC!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

If you've lived anywhere with a strong Mexican community or culture, you'll know that DC is a hard place to find authentic mexican flavors. Alegria exceeded every expectation we had when we tried this restaurant last month. Flavorful salsa and gauc sold us before we even received our entrees. We had to wait about 30 minutes, but the margaritas were well balanced with great flavor and they even did a walking hors d'oeuvres tray for those of us waiting. I opted for a two small plates while my husband had a true entree. Both the pork taco and duck quesadilla would thumbs up. We plan to go back soon, and often.
