“Wolftrap is a GREAT venue to see a show.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

Wolftrap differs from other outdoor concert venues in so many ways. It is smaller, less crowded, you are allowed to bring in your own picnic and alcohol (bottle of wine is perfect under the stars). The crowd is fairly mellow, I have been going for years - it is my favorite place to listen to a performer. You can even bring the kids (but they need a ticket).

“Old Time Evening Out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Wolf Trap Park is a beautiful setting, easy to access, and a gorgeous structure. Seats are very comfortable and plenty of leg room. No blocked views in the house. Acoustics are perfect. We attend about 2-3 shows per summer and always enjoy them. The lawn areas are very nice and I must believe that maintenance sprays for bugs--never had one near us when we use the lawn for a show. Some who sit on the lawn bring chairs and could block others view of the stage so be warned about this. Best to bring your own beach type lawn chairs just in case. The only other problem with the lawn is the threat of rain so check the weather outlook before heading there and buying tickets at the park. When the weather is good, using the lawn for a picnic and show are a great deal. Overall, Wolf Trap is a wonderful evening out to see some great shows.

“Theater”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Wolftrap is a great artistic venue. It is a beautiful covered open air structure made of wood. There is a large lawn sloping down to the lovely theater area. People picnic there and lawn tickets take care of overflow attendance. There are a variety of plays and concerts scheduled from Memorial Day to around Labor Day.

“FREE WINE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

OK, it's not free, but you can bring your own, and that feels almost free ;-) Seriously, taking a picnic supper with a bottle or two of wine and sitting on your blanket on the lawn is a great prelude to a wonderful evening of music. I can assure you of wonderful music because with a line-up as large and varied as Wolf Trap's, there's bound to be a favorite or two among them during a season. It's a great venue, there's covered seating available if you insist, the shows are top notch, and you can even buy refreshments on site if you wish.

“A Unique Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

There's always something of interest at Wolf Trap. This will be my 40th summer going to something there. Just about always picnic beforehand out in the park and sit inside, but out on the lawn can be fun. The traffic at the end, especially if it rains, can be the only downside. It's much improved over years ago, though. If you've got the time, bring a post-show dessert and eat after the show to let things clear out. All in all, a great place to hear a concert or see a show.
