This site was a little out of the way but so worth it. The tour was very informative and we got to take a ton of pictures. I would recommend this site for kids as well because there is a lot to see even though its all in one room. I would love to go back and see more in years to come.

“Stop here if you're passing through!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013 via mobile

I was hesitant to go here because a lot of the reviews I read were from people who brought their kids to The Mammoth Site, but my husband and I took a chance and stopped in on our way to Mount Rushmore and I'm so glad we did! We both found it very interesting and worth the money. The tour itself was about 30 minutes and then we spent another 30 minutes walking around. Our tour guide was very sweet and knowledgeable. A great value! I recommend going even if you're an adult without kids!

“Very Interesting Fossil Site/Mammoth History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Nice museum/active dig site. I don't see how very young children would like this but adolescents and up should find it fascinating. They really do try to accommodate all questions and have it set up so that you can see all that they are doing. You can learn a lot here. The $9 tour fee seemed reasonable to us.

“Interesting”

The way this is carved into the mountain and all look so much like each President. Everything is so clean and the walk of the flags are great.

Joymay51: Thanks for writing your comments on Trip Advisor. I believe you meant to comment about Mt. Rushmore, as we don't have any carvings of the Presidents. Thanks for visiting the Black Hiils though!!
