“Great Value!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

My wife and I stayed at the Millenium Cincinnati while on a trip with friends. We could not have had a better experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was madern and clean, and the location in downtown was perfect. I highly reccomend this hotel. You will have a hard time finding nicer accomodations in this price range.

This was my second business visit for a convention at the Duke Energy Center. The Millennium is right across the street, and connected via an enclosed skywalk. It's also pretty convenient to Fountain Square. I enjoy walking and found that the hotel was a great jumping-off point for downtown shopping and browsing. But I think you need to be careful and look your room over closely before you unpack your bags, because at least in my room, there were a couple of issues.

Other up sides:
-- No particular hassles with check-in, housekeeping and in-room dining services.
-- Good coin-operated laundry facility if you're the type who does laundry mid-trip.

Bad things:
-- Room was quite clean but the decor **really** needed a facelift. A towel bar was missing from the shower, although when I called housekeeping they replaced it quickly.
-- The TV remote conked out on the last morning of my stay, which meant I was unable to use the TV to complete an in-room express check-out. (The controls on the TV weren't working either.)

I wouldn't rule out staying here again, but as I said, I'd give the room a careful looking-over to make sure everything was as it should be.

We had previously stayed at the Millenium hotel and it was not a pleasant experience. We gave it another chance (mostly because of location, location, location)... and it was MUCH better this time. The doorman was so polite - the check-in was quick and the clerk was very courteous. The room was much nicer. Still small, but much nicer. The furniture looked great and the bed was very clean. The only criticism I have with this hotel is that the owners have a "diamond in the rough" and need to be smart and update it asap! With the new casino opening soon down there - they would be foolish not to refurbish this hotel. I'm sure more hotel competition will be upcoming. The location of the Millenium is SUPERB! Very close (walking distance) to all of the shopping and the new Banks area with the restaruants and bars and just a cab ride to the new casino. I will go back this summer and see how the rooftop pool is. Give the Millennium a try.

Our room was fine, clean, no issues for me to report. Stayed here 9 years ago and found it fine then too. I am glad there is a decent priced hotel room option if one wants to stay in downtown Cincinnati. FYI-I had a coworker staying here too and she reported her room was fine and had no complaints. I told her about the number of negative reviews I read on TripAdvisor and she was surprised.

Stayed here one night for New Years Eve. Accomidations are average, but nothing negative. Rooms felt like they had a mini-update done to them. Still could use flat panel TV in the rooms we had. We like the large floor to ceiling windows, but they did create a bit of a cold draft when open. Beds could be a bit more compy, but not bad by any means. There was a long line when we arrived, but line went quick (line because of New Years Eve). Our group was five gay guys and we booked two rooms. Nice being located across the street from a gay club and 9 blocks or short cab ride to many other gay clubs. For the location and price, would stay again.

The hotel's main areas definitely could use a facelift, but we found the service to be decent, the facilities to be adequate and the room very nicely appointed, recently renovated and very clean. The location was absolutely terrific, a block or two from from Fountain Square and all fo the restaurants and pubs in that area and a short walk to the Paul Brown Stadium, the Great American Ballpark, US Bank Arena and the many other entertainment facilities in downtown Cincinnati.

For the $66/night we paid for the weekend we were in town, I can honestly say it was one of the best values we have seen in our travels.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. I couldn't believe it was rated as a 3 1/2 star...more like 2star, if that. Hair stuck in the provided shampoo bottle. Black nastiness on the base of the toilet. I felt itchy all night. Debris and cracked tiles in the lobby. Wrinkled carpet. The only good things were the view, the valet attendant, and the location.
