“Two bedroom suites.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

Rooms are set up like apartments. Have kitchen with full size fridge, stove. Kitchen has everything you would need to make a meal. Furnishings are dated. Getting to hotel from parking garage is a maze but don't have to worry, very well marked. Most rooms have balcony especially even number rooms. Request higher floor. Could hear traffic from my 5th floor room. Beds were adequate. Baseball and football stadiums are about 9 to 11 blocks walk. Would stay here again even though it cost $180.00 on saturday night. Still had plenty of space, didn't feel cramped. Don't have to much bad things to say, just dated.

I would highly recommend this hotel starting with the great front desk welcome and assistance and the suite which was clean, spacious, quiet, comfortable beds & pillows. We parked in a covered city lot next to the hotel for about $10. Walking distance to the Reds ballpark and a quick trip over the bridge to Kentucky.

Hotel stay July 30-Aug 2nd, 2013. Staff were very helpful, food was pretty good especially the Pizza. Chicken parm not so well, tasted like it was frozen then reheated. Location is border line good and no so good. Restaurants close by are good, local bars close are ok, small grocery store across the street is stocked with items you might have forgotten or need for the day. Rooms are very spacious with refrigerator, microwave ovens and stove top w/oven. Utensils, pots/pans, dishes available in room. Hotel is needing some updates, it's an older building, but it has a lot of character. It is very close by the baseball stadium, the river, bus line and highway.
I would recommend this hotel for business and vacation.

Room Tip: There is an alley on the backside that is quite noisy at times. The road ways on two sides are not t...

Ok so the hotel is a bit dated and could use a make over. But it's clean...super clean and the staff is fantastic plus the location can't be beat.
we walked to the bank, fountain square and the casino...perfect location.

We stayed at this hotel for a recent wedding. The room was clean with no musty smells as documented by previous guests. We did not utilize the full kitchen facilities since we were occupied with other wedding guests and ate all of our meals in restaurants. We did eat breakfast in the hotel restaurant. I would not order the pancakes again, but the breakfast burrito was enjoyed by two of our relatives as well as the eggs and toast combo. They were attentive to the children in our group.

We spent one night in a 2 bedroom "suite" at the Garfield Suites in dowtown Cincinnati. I have always wondered what this hotel was like as we stay downtown often as Reds season ticket holders. We wont be returning to the Garfield Suites.

The one positive was the staff. Check-in was quick and everyone was friendly and helpful. Nothing bad to say about the staff at all.

Everything else was well below average. The "suite" itself reminded me of an old public housing apartment. I'm convinced that is what this building used to be. The smell was awful and the furnishings were very dated. The elevators were barely functional. The parking garage, while inexpensive, was connected to the hotel by a hallway that felt like a cave. Never would I allow my wife to walk that hallway alone. The Hotel itself is on the fringe of downtown and is with a couple of blocks of some seedy neighborhoods.

Most of the downtown Cincinnati hotels are not up to the standards that you would find elsewhere, but the Garfield Suites is the worst. I'd compare it to the Travelodge in Newport. I hoped this hotel would be a good alternative to the Millenium. Safe to say, that it is not. The Millunium is not great, but it is a much better option that the Grafiled Suites.

We booked with Garfield Suites because the price and location were right. We had a business meeting near by and wanted to keep our expenses down. We weren't looking for luxury, just a comfortable place to sleep and relax when we weren't in meetings. When we arrived at our suite, I was pleasantly surprised to walk into an apartment--full kitchen, large living/dining area, two bedrooms and a bath. The place was clean, though the furniture and decor was a bit dated. It would have been a great place for a family or a group of friends--room to spread out and a kitchen you could actually cook in.
