“Beautiful with excellent customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

My wife and I stayed this Saturday, and I cannot say enough about this hotel. Excellent staff and the hotel is beautiful. Our room was also top notch. Bed and linens were great and the bathroom was very functional.

Will stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher in elevation you get, the better the view of the city.

I was hesitant to stay at the Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown because I could not find photos online, but the hotel turned out to be quite elegant, everything in the room was brand new and modern with view of the river. The hotel staff were very accommodating, even had a cheerful representative escort us around the lobby to the elevator. The location was convenient for the bars downtown near the stadiums.

The staff at the hotel was extremely accommodating, especially Eva when we checked in.

The decor is all black, gray, and white with touches of mustard or lime. No rounded corners--all very sleek, straight lines, very modern. Quite striking and lovely.

The bed was comfy, with enormous pillows. There are ample outlets for charging, though I had trouble finding one convenient to the iron/ironing board. Functionally, the room was very disappointing. In the bathroom, all lights are in the ceiling behind the person standing at the sink, so I had to feel my way to put on makeup. The counter is wide and useful, but it also puts you at a distance from the mirror, for those of us who are near-sighted. The shower door would not stay closed; it kept rolling open, in spite of efforts to stabilize it. The shower is roomy enough that not much water escaped, but it was awkward, to say the least.

The internet description said "Free wi-fi," but it turned out that was only in the lobby and one other place--not in the rooms unless you were a Marriott rewards customer with some sort of elite status, which we didn't have. For us, it would have been $12.99/day.

They would not suggest any parking option except valet, for $35/day plus tip, when parking garages for $16/day were within a block.

The restaurant opens at 6 a.m., but at 7:20 a.m. we saw no servers or host and weren't sure where to sit. Finally someone appeared and showed us to a beautiful table--and left us with lunch menus. That was all straightened out and breakfast was acceptable. The restrooms there, again, demonstrated form over function. For example, both of us had to gyrate all over the place to get the "automatic" faucets to turn on, and stalls are exceptionally narrow.

Perhaps tweaking will change some of this, but Cincinnati has too many fine, established hotels to waste time and money on this one for now.

This place is very clean and in a great location. The staff was very nice and seemed always willing to assist if needed. For the service we got the price was worth it. It was also very quit and comfortable. Everything in this motel looked new and clean.

Really great stay! Beautiful hotel, incredibly nice wait staff and comfy bed. Would recommend checking out a little early if you valet park to avoid the wait. Highly recommended, especially if you're in town for a Reds game!

Very high end property in Cincinnati. A block and a half away from Fountain square, equally so to the riverfront. The rooms are large with high ceilings and are well appointed. It is designed in a minimalist fashion.
Service was great, with the staff fixing problems as one arose upon check in.
Breakfast in the restaurant was way above average. Typically hotel breakfasts are not remarkable, but this one was incredible with attention to detail at every end.

The hotel is a former bank with great architectural details. The ballroom was incredible.
The executive lunge is on the ground floor facing street side, which is a little odd. It was closed while I was there so didn't have a chance to visit it, but it looks interesting.
I had a junior suite which was incredibly spacious, including a full sitting area, bar, separate bedroom, etc.
The street noise is loud for a newly renovated hotel with a room facing 4th street. Even on the 12th floor you can hear post game revelers on the street as well as traffic.
Despite the night noise, Highest marks, though!

I always try to stay at Marriotts and decided to try this newly opened and renovated hotel. You never know what your going to get, but this is a home run! They just recently opened from renovating and old hotel. Their is still some minor signs of some final touches being done but it's phabulous. Very modern, the lounge and dinning area is very well designed and very modern looking. The room we got was in top shape. Concierge area is very elegant and right on first floor. The work out room has lots of space and equipment. We were in for a Bengals game and the hotel is very close walking distance to Paul Brown Stadium. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Plan on the 15 minutes they tell you to get your vehicle from the valle service. If you get a chance check out the second floor ball room. Breath taking to say the least. We will definitely stay here again! Enjoy!
