“Surprisingly quiet rooms, very clean and new”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

Normally we stay downtown, but we wanted to stay as close as possible to a late night event. I was expecting much less, a workhorse hotel which has been my experience with Courtyard. This hotel is right off of I71 as noted by others but it's incredibly quiet, and we were in a block of young adult wedding revelers and I never heard one thing from other guests, and certainly not the highway.

Everything is new and clean and shiny and modern. The rooms are very comfortable. Yes, we were surprised by the $6 parking fee, but being accustomed to staying downtown we weren't upset by it.

The bathroom was quite nice and I loved the comfortable, large shower.

I've stayed her 3 times now. Primarily because of it location. Each time I leave I feel ripped off. Disclaimer, I've been a Diamond level hhonors member since 2000 so that is my norm. Having said that, I feel for the nightly rate they ask they come up short in a few areas.

The first thing that I find ridiculous is a $6/night parking fee. Come on!! You're not downtown and you didn't have to erect some massive parking garage. You have a big blacktop parking lot adjacent to a large shopping area that can handle your overflow. Why are you charging me?!

Secondly, for this price I'd expect at least a continental breakfast. But they offer NOTHING! Nearly all hotels at least offer this. Even those that are much cheaper.

Pro tip - I had to ask someone if free coffee was offered. It is, but it's hiding behind their little cafe that tries to get you to buy coffee that you can get for free if you just walk around it. Don't fall for the scam.

I would compare this to a Hilton garden inn. But the Hilton property would give you much more for the money. However, if you don't mind paying their rate, and getting hosed on parking, the hotel is otherwise adequate. It's brand new so their job is easier. Nice rooms, nice bedding, nice gym, and free wifi. Plenty of dining options within walking distance. Seasons 52, Capital Grille, J Alexander's, bucca di peppo, Max n Ermas, Jason's Deli, a Pub, Potbelly's, Starbucks...

I want to thank you for staying with us Jason W! As you stated there is a parking fee, which we thought about prior to opening and came up with the fair price of $6 per night, with the parking pass we are able to keep non guest cars out of our lot. Courtyard by Marriott as a brand has moved to the Bistro concept, where all menu items are made to order, we are now able to offer better meal options for our guests. We proudly serve Starbucks coffee, which is what the brand has found the majority of our guests enjoy, but we do still offer complimentary coffee in the guest rooms. We do hope you will stay with us again and thank you for being a return guest to our property!

My husband and I stayed here for combination business/pleasure trip. Hotel is a few miles North of Cincinnati right off I-71. I am a light sleeper and did not hear any traffic...a huge plus for me! No hot tub but a small saltwater pool. I did not get in but it felt pretty nice. The staff were great and we appreciated getting a complementary upgrade to a large suite! Wow! it was huge: 2 bathrooms, a bar area with sink, fridge and microwave. Unlike older Courtyards the heating/cooling system was NOT a small noticeable noisy floor/wall type unit. It was more like a Marriott Hotel property. Several restaurants nearby and shopping area as well. I will surely stay here again.

We visited our son at Xavier and this is the perfect location, only 5 minutes to his door! We stayed in a one bedroom suite with a huge living room and 1.5 baths....it was amazing! The beds are super comfy and the bathrooms are very nice. The staff is very helpful and it is very close to great restaurants and shopping. We will be back every time we visit our son! Oh, the price was great too!

Hotel has only been open six months. Rooms and common areas still feel new and seem well designed. Upsides include proximity to an array of restaurants within walking distance. Hotel itself offers limited food service. This place is directly next to I-71 - I did not hear any highway sounds in a room on the far side of the building. Oddly, they hit you for $6 to park a car in their lot - which is annoying and gratuitous since they have plenty of spaces and offer only an uncovered, unsecured lot.

The hotel is shinny and new. However many rooms sit right on top of I-71 and there is noise. Truck traffic, car traffic and motorcycles all right out your window. It is convenient and great restaurants just across the parking lot and across the street. Huge selection and anything you want to eat. Staff was friendly and helpful and tried hard to convince us it wasn't that noisy.

Thank you for your review Rix911, we agree there is so much to do in the area; we are lucky to be near so many fantastic restaurants! I can assure you that when building our hotel we took a lot of extra measures to make the building as sound proof as possible due to our proximity to the highway. Next time you come to Cincinnati please call the hotel and we will do our best to get you a room that will better suit your needs!

Our oldest son was at Xavier for 4 years and is now living and working in Cincinnati so we travel and stay there fairly often. Just stayed at this new property for the first time and we will definitely be back. It is new and clean and great location but most importantly all the staff we came into contact with were wonderful. A particular shout out to Joe at the front desk, he went out of his way to get me a cab to the casino (i missed the first one). It is a newly styled Courtyard, nothing lavish but it is clean, comfortable, quiet and accomodating. Mainy restaurants and shops within walking distance. I highly recommend.
