SOTTO is the new higher-end Italian in the former site of La Normandy, below the new BOCA Restaurant. We dined there with a group of 8 people. We had a marvelous time. The service was what you would expect at high end BOCA and our server Sarah's advise was always spot on... right down to the phenominal Arcangelo "Jammie" wine! (it was!). She steered us in the right direction. All of the salads were wonderful (try the beet, tomato and goat cheese salad!) and the pastas and short ribs were marvelous. We split a few Secondi's for the table - including the pounded thin pork loin served with capers, arugula and lemon. OUTSTANDING. The short ribs were marvelous. It was ALL marvelous. If you don't have room for the outstanding deserts (like the riccota donuts with 3 different sauces), grab some to go. And the biggest surprise was that the price was less than what I expected for this level of service and quality. WE WILL RETURN!!! Great place for a group or a couple.
ONE more tip - I expected the wine list to be more expensive for the bottle. Most of the bottles were in the $40-48 dollar range. I thought that was reasonable for a place like this. There's a few $100-200 bottles, but the wines were at a nice price point. Good small winery bottles that you don't find everywhere.
