Our attentive (but not overbearing) server allowed us to eat our way through the menu, top to bottom (Share, Yakitori, Soup, Salad, Main, Sushi Rolls, plus dessert). Pork Buns were a highlight, as was Ramen Tonkotsu (Pork Belly, again, but this time in Dashi stock with baby bok choy, scallion and soft-cooked egg.) Spicy Miso Clam was a disappointment, spicy hot for sure, but that was it -- none of the subtlety that distinguished our favorites.
There's a bunch of bar beside the dining room for us to explore on our next visit. And there will be a bar visit in our future because the mixed drinks are outstanding. Drinks we'd normally not pay much attention to -- a Whiskey Sour or Gin & Tonic -- are given Japanese-sounding names and such great flavors that you want to sip them -- like a good Scotch or Bourbon.
