“Good Food But Not Satisfying”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

The food was pretty tasty, but the flavors were very subtle. Combine the subtle flavors with very small portion sizes and we left the restaurant feeling unsatisfied (from a food perspective). The sushi was served in the smallest portion sizes I've ever seen and the rice didn't stick together well enough. The quality of the fish seemed good though. There were some intersting appetizer combinations. Our entrees were the best part of the meal. The pork cheeks served on a pickled and sauteed daikon radish were really good. But, for two people who don't drink to spend $130 on a meal is pretty pricey in Cincinnati. For that price I'd much rather go to Boca or Cumin.

“Great food in a trendy spot. Try It!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013 via mobile

Our group had a great Dinner at Kaze in Over The Rhein (Cincinnati). Even the Valet Parker welcomed us and made some suggestions. Food was great. Menu was adventurous without being too out there. The Kato roll and the Dragon Slayer sushi rolls were original and excellent. The starter Wagyu Sliders and Pork Belly Buns were enjoyed by all at the table. The King Salmon was raved about, as was all the other food. Nice service from Rachel who made great suggestions. The decor is well done and beautiful in the dining room - Loved the Coalesse ENEA Lotus chairs and stools - Beautiful! The bar in back was hip and cool... A whole different feel. Definitely recommended.

“An amazing part of OTR's rebirth!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Everything about our meal was perfect. We arrived on time and although the restaurant was crowded, our table was ready - no wait. A very knowledgable server guided us through the menu and helped us make choices on sake (the house, served hot, was addictive), small plates (the sliders were divine!) and all our other choices. The ramen was delicious - packed with flavor and huge bits of crispy pork belly. The sushi was beautifully presented, fresh-tasting, and creative - the "dragonslayer" half roll, with five big pieces, had my mouth doing the happy dance. The restaurant is lovely and the atmosphere was lively and fun. Out-of-town visitors, don't wander off the main streets in this part of Cincinnati. Valet parking was available for $6 on the Friday night that we dined.

“Great new addition for Cincy!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

From the moment you enter the door to the moment you leave, the vibe is high energy and hip. Set in a lofty space in Over-The-Rhine, KaZe features full scale dining, a sushi bar, a large bar room with the largest red japanese lanterns I've ever seen, to an outdoor courtyard.

The menu is fresh and innovative. The service is just as good as the food. Our server, Leigh, was prompt with each and every course. Also, so many ethnic restaurants pale when it comes to a wine list that supports the cuisine. Not so with KaZe. We enjoyed a very moderately priced bottle of muscadet that paired beautifully with the full flavored food.

as one person put it, the food's so good, your tongue will slap your tastebuds!!
