4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Stopped in for a couple beers and appetizer. Good choice of beers and servers and bartenders in kilts. Great Scottish Pub!

“New Chef, Better Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

My wife heard Nicholson's had a new, good chef, so we decided to try it again after an absence of several years. We quite enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu. I had the shepherd's pie and my wife had the salmon, both of which were very good. The flavors were good, the food was hot, and the service was professional and attentive. Nicholson's has a fantastic location right across from the Aronoff Center, so it's close to pretty much everything downtown. The atmosphere is "pub" and the overall feeling is very casual. I see this as a real plus, as some of the other places downtown are a little more dressy. It's nice to have a very good, casual option.

“Good dining experience in this fun pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

Our dinner experience here was much better than many of the recent reviews. Our waitress, Robin, was very prompt, attentive and friendly. The hostess brought the kids coloring books and crayons. We had a nice cozy booth and the kids enjoyed seeing the waitstaff in kilts. Although we are not big beer drinkers, they seem to have a large beer selection. We tried the amber ale which was very tasty. We started with the lobster mac-n-cheese, the calamari and the mussels -- all which were very good. My husband and the kids had the fish and chips which were very tasty and I had the salmon which was excellent. This was a great casual, family friendly restaurant.
