“If you really love Italian food avoid this place !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We have heard for years and years about this place in Cincinnati from friends and family.. how much "fun' it is- "good food" etc. It is a "yuppie" trendy spot period. The decor is wonderful and very italian but that is all the italian you will get while you are there. The meal started with a wilted iceberg lettuce salad with a few olives and peppers drowned in italian dressing. The garlic bread was good. Next the main course was an overdone zitti- baked dry.Now zitti is cheap - what would it cost them to put a real sauce over it? We had to ask for marinara sauce to top it and as it was it was barely edible We ordered 2 italian sausages which arrived and were small compared to everything else and WAY over priced for what you get. The dessert was a tiramisu in a large soup bowl which was reasonably good and did serve the entire party. The food was really disappointing and WAY over priced. The servers were really good and seemed to realize that there were frequent complaints over the food and were apologetic and quickly brought marinara sauce etc.. 3 times during our meal they asked "it we liked the food".. it was sad to tell
them "no" but that was the truth.it was one of the worst "imitation italian " meals I have ever eated anywhere, ever !
I understand that this is a chain restaurant but other chains in the
Cincinnati area really do a lot better and have better prices. If in Cincinnati, look up La Rosa's and even the local Olive Garden is better than this restaurant. However if you are are yuppie and want to be seen in"Hyde Park" Cincinnati, this is the place to go- certainly never for the food. Once was enough !

“Make sure you have the same taste as your date.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

This is a family style restaurant so make sure you dine with someone who likes what you like. The food was good but a salad and pasta dish without a drink was $45. Would only return with a large group to dine family style - the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

“Doubtful We Return Again”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

I hate to write negative reviews, but sometimes it is necessary. My wife and I had a coupon and decided to have lunch. It has been a very long time since the last time we were here and I doubt we will return. First of all, we had to wait several minutes for a hostess to greet us. Then, as we walked into the dining area, the hostess stopped at a counter where they keep all the menus. Instead of seating us immediately, she took a couple of minutes to organize all the various menus into different piles. I asked her to please seat us and then come back and take care of her housekeeping duties. She totally ignored me and continued straightening the piles of menus while we just stood there watching her. She finally decided to take us to a table. The room we were in had people dining at a couple of tables, but there were three tables still littered with all the dirty dishes from prior guests. The tables stayed that way during our entire lunch. When we ordered our food, I gave the waitress the coupon to apply the discount to our bill. When we finished our meal, she brought us the check and the coupon had not been applied. Now I had to track her down and tell her she neglected the discount. She stared at the bill in disbelief and finally said she must have forgotten. OK, now we wait some more for her to get it corrected. My wife had asked for a take-home container and the waitress had to go back again to get one. None of these repeated trips were done quickly by her and we had to wait several minutes each time. Now, as far as the food is concerned, we thought it was average at best. My chicken parmigiana was overcooked and the sauce was extremely bland. My wife's pasta shrimp dish barely had any shrimp in it for $11.99. There was no parmesan cheese on our table and I again had to ask the server and she obtained one from another table. Our meals were not worth the full price and we were very glad we had a discount coupon to ease our pain. Frankly, we have had much better meals and service at the local Olive Garden.

“Yummy but....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012 via mobile

We sat in the wine room & Was annoyed by the servers as they seated new guests and told each of them about how the room was most requested & notice the wine bottles on the ceiling. I must have heard that 15 times through out our dinner. Also the fire alarm kept going off:( but the food was all very tasty. Our table had the baked rigatoni, eggplant, manicotti, spicy chicken rigatoni, pizza & shrimp alfrdo along with some apps. Nobody had complaints on the food.
