The atmosphere at this place ranks near the top of many restaurants I have been to. The little train running around the restaurant and the old wooden floors really make you feel like you're stepping back in time when you visit Zips. Seating is limited, but worth the wait. We showed up at 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday but only waited about 5 minutes for a table to open up.
The menu is simple, but good quality. I ordered a Zip Burger with saratoga chips and had a bowl of chili as well. The burger was well seasoned and the saratoga chips came with a side of tangy BBQ sauce. The burger was the perfect size in my mind, although I could see how some people may think they are a little on the small side. So many restaurants make massive burgers that are way too big, but Zips hits it right on the head. The portion is just enough to satisfy you without making you feel stuffed.
The food isn't anything outstanding, but their focus on simplicity is refreshing. It's definitely an experience I would recommend to anyone.
