Description: For Jeff Ruby, this is the steakhouse that started it all. In 1981, The Precinct was born in the former Cincinnati Police Patrol House Number 6. This turn-of-the-century, Romanesque-style structure would hold what is now the longest, continuously running white tablecloth restaurant in the city. Recently named one of America's Top 10 Steakhouses by USA Today and Gayot.com, The Precinct is frequently recognized as having Cincinnati’s best steaks, seafood and service. This consistent high level of quality and overall guest experience over 3 decades has endeared Precinct to celebrities, businesspeople, families and loyal diners alike.

“Best Steak EVER!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

It is hard to describe the entire dining experience at the Princint. Unmatched personal attention from all the staff. The steak litterally melts in you mouth, perfect crust and spices and perfectly cooked. It is difficult to do it justice in a review. It is higher end price but definitely worth every penny.

“Best steakhouse in Cincinnati, hands down”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Great, great steaks. The filets here are incredible. Sides are included as opposed to a la carte, which is nice. The Freddie salad is tasty. Can not recommend highly enough. Will cost you a penny or two, but well worth it. Service is always excellent. The back bar is great place to get a meal also, or just go for drinks and appetizers.

“Good food but terrible ambiance”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

The food is generally good, as you would expect for a Jeff Ruby restaurant. However the ambiance is terrible. The majority of the tables are literally 1 foot apart from one another, and you are so close to the next table it is really the same as if you were at the same table, making it impossible to have a romantic evening or a private conversation. The last time we ate here my husband's food was overcooked, and while I am sure we could have sent it back to have it recooked, my husband did not want me eating by myself or having my food get cold while we waited, so he just ate it anyway. Also, the waiter stated that my husband could not get a draft beer served to the table, that draft was only served to the bar, which seemed ridiculous to us. We have been here a number of times, but based on these experiences we will not be returning. We may try another Jeff Ruby restaurant to see if the ambiance is better.

“THE BEST STEAK IN THE MIDWEST REGION”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Best steakhouse and it is perfect for any and all occasions. There is a newer area of a bar or pub and it is more casual. Have been for graduation several times.

“Very Good but Overrated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

We've eaten at the Precinct many times and it is losing its luster. This was one of the few fine dining restaurants in Cincinnati for many years. However, there are now many great restaurants in Cincinnati that offer better food and value. This is just another overpriced but good steakhouse.
