“nice local lunch haunt”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

We recently went to Annabel's for the first time for a weekday lunch. It is a very small little place, easy to miss, on Mt. Lookout Square. Food consists of sandwiches, salads, quiches, and soups. Good, fresh, lunch fare and generous portions. My husband had an enormous tuna salad sandwich and I had a great roasted red pepper and tomato soup (thickened with butter milk) and a salmon salad.

the small size can make it hard to get in. We got there just before 12 and by noon it was packed. As we sat eating, at least 10 people came in looking for a spot. If you go, go early or be prepared to wait. It's worth it though!

“WAY over rated, & they don't need you”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

Never a second chance!! (1) Annabel's is a VERY small shoebox (maximum setting is 4 - more in a moment), (2) fashionable as any hospital closet (think light green), and (3) Annabel's doesn't need you. We went there Mother's Day. Dora the Explora waitress asked, "How many?" We said 6. She said, "we only have seating for 4, but come back another time when you have a smaller party" (e.g. go away, “Next!”). I said, "Okay, we have 4". Rather than expressing understanding, she said, "I thought you said you have 6?'" (screw you, too) as if I have to explain to her that 4+2=6! (cause, damn it, we're here and 4 more are on their way, & I'm going to make this work!). She wasn't going to understand, said they couldn't "logistically" make it work, and suggested we come back another time (e.g. go away - it's you problem, mister- "Next!"). So we all went to Echo's in Hyde Park! They were courteous, helpful, made seating for 6 happen, and served great food. Annabel's doesn't need you. Go to Echo's: close, nicer, better.

“Best brunch in Cincinnati”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

This is the best place for brunch in Cincinnati. I have been here 3 times already, and this time besides the scrambled eggs with warm croissant and fruit, we tried the pancakes, everything was amazing. The worst part is you have to come in person for a reservation and wait a while, and then after sitting down you also have to wait some time, but it means the food is made fresh to order. This is definitely the best brunch! Amazing food! :)

“Best Grilled cheese!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013 via mobile

I try to Eat here at least once a week. Annabel's is the best! The grilled cheese is the most amazing grilled cheese I have ever had. Everything is made from scratch And She uses only top notch ingredients. She is famous for her soups and desserts. The place is small so plan To arrive early.

“Annabel's for brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Annabel's in Mt Lookout was a great little place for brunch. It's a small place so don't be surprised if you have to wait outside since there is no room inside to stand. Take a walk and check out the other businesses nearby. The wait is worth it. Food was really good. Service was very good. The ladies really hustled around to take care of us. Great for brunch, but get there early.
