In this case, quirky was not a problem with us because we got great food for a little money. We got there early (4 pm), and had no trouble ordering (you order at a counter and they bring it to you) or finding a table inside (maybe only 8 tables inside?) on a hot summer night. There is plenty of seating outside with plenty of room for the kids to run around. The food was out in a jif, and it was hot and fresh. Between the four of us, we had pulled pork, ribs, jalapeno cornbread, jalapeno grits and baked beans, and everyone was happy with everything. The sides were a good size and packed with flavor. An added bonus is that it is BYOB - get two delicious pulled pork sandwich dinners for $16 total and bring in your own adult beverages? Yeehaw!! The restaurant does not have cups or ice on site (that's part of the quirkyness), so if you want your beer in a cup, bring your own. Also, Eli's does not accept credit cards, so come prepared. And get there early or you WILL have a long wait.
