“Worth Getting Of the Highway For”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

This place was a stumble upon gem. While coming back from Louisville, KY we stopped here for a meal and were super impressed. The place was beatiful to look at, the service was outstanding and the food was mouthwatering!
The portions are large and the flavor was wonderful. A nice place to stop on a road trip!

“Great fast casual barbeque joint”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

First of all, this is fast casual, so think "Chipotle of Barbeque" and you'll be on the right track. Their meat is smoked on site and consistently good. Their side dishes are very good and the value here is outstanding. This is just a well done fast casual barbeque joint. This isn't a one off artisan that has a great following and lands a Diners Dives spot on TV, but this is a reliable place for delicious brisket or chicken or ribs with a nice variety of sides like corn pudding, beans, salad, etc.

“Price was right! -- BBQ wasn’t!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

During a recent trip to Cincinnati I ate at City Barbeque on Glenway Avenue. I went to TripAdvisor and the CityBBQ web site prior to the trip. City BBQ looked like a place that offered good bbq at a reasonable price. I’ve got good things and bad things to report. The price was great, the sides were delicious, however the bbq -- instead of creating a desire for more left us wanting something better. There were three of us (all seniors) in our party and we ordered the Deluxe City Sampler to share. We even got it for the Monday night special price of $21.99. The sampler included 1/4 chicken, ½ slab of ribs, pulled pork, brisket, cornbread, Texas toast and we upsized the sides to a pint each of Corn Pudding (fantastic) and Green Beans with Bacon (very good). All of the meat had a nice flavor - the chicken was the best of the meat . It was moist and tender. The brisket also was pretty good, but the ribs and the pulled pork were too dry. The major problem however was the meat was served at a luke warm temperature at best and it was cold before we got halfway through the meal. The price was right, but the BBQ wasn’t.

“Finger licken good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Great BBQ. I liked it better than the Montgomery Inn... cheaper too.
They have several types of sauce... take one home. Not a fancy place, and you can sit outside, but the price is right and the food is GREAT! Check it out!
