“The best hotel in the U.S.!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

My husband and I stayed 2 nights along with our college age daughter for the Flying Pig Marathon 2013 weekend. We were astonished by how beautiful the hotel is as well as how wonderful everyone in the hotel treated us. From the moment we pulled up to the curb to the moment we walked out the door and drove away, everyone in the hotel greeted us with GENUINE kindness and smiles! I had booked a king suite but since our daughter ended up staying with us (she's a UC student and thought she might stay at her campus house, but when she saw the beautiful accommodations, she had a quick change of heart), we decided once we entered the room, due to our visit and needing a good nights rest to race the next day, we would need two queens. We called down to the desk and they immediately found us a 2 bedroom with 2 Kings and brought us up our new keys!! I was so thrilled not to have to sleep in a queen with my hubby because hotel queen beds feel like twin beds especially when you are exhausted....Plus added bonus, our daughter got her own bedroom and bath!! We could of stayed here for at least a week, if not longer!! The rooms are very clean and comfortable which was so wonderful for a great nights sleep prior to our big race day and afterwards exhausted!! The entire staff was welcoming and kind...they encouraged us as we left for the race, praised us as we returned, and bent over backwards to make us feel welcome! I can't say enough about every employee. The valet parking was so speedy, I think they could of won the marathon! The location is perfect and our walk was a perfect quick warmup for our race! The only issue was the front desk at check in told us breakfast buffet didn't open until 7 either Saturday or Sunday. They did have water, coffee, fruit, bagels and yogurt bright and early Sunday AND Saturday they did have the entire breakfast open stocked full hot ready to eat by 7am for us...I just wish I would of went a few minutes earlier as I'm sure they had things ready...instead we rushed and ate real quickly on our way out the door! All in all....food was great....NO complaints at all! The best hotel experience....and my husband travels on business quite often! We've stayed at several upscale hotels and The Residence Inn Cincy outshines them with their true hospitality, kindness and accommodations!
Thank you so very much for a wonderful birthday/marathon weekend! I tried to book for next years race just now, but the web site only books thru April 2014!! Will check back next month!! See y'all maybe sooner...I hope!! :)

Room Tip: Our rooms were very quiet...we felt as if we had the hotel to ourselves! Room 407!

To be honest we didn't even stay at this hotel but I live in Cincinnati and my mother ran the Flying Pig marathon - after the race we walked back to our car and along the way found NO porta-potties (shame on you flying pig planners). Needless to say we both needed to use the bathroom and happened to pass this hotel on the way to our car. We decided to chance it and ask the nice man (Nick) at the front desk if we might use the lobby bathroom. He was SO accommodating - showing us where it was and congratulating my mother on her run. I didn't see a lot of the hotel but the lobby was beautiful and based on that and Nick's awesome welcoming attitude I would not hesitate in the least to recommend this hotel to people!

The downtown Residence Inn Cincinnati is an excellent choice for the business traveler. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff is very friendly and always at your service. The hotel and the rooms are very clean and well kept. The rooms are very spacious and are comfortable. The bar (The Phelps) is a great place to get a drink and catch up on emails or to unwind. Overall this an excellent hotel that I would recommend to anyone else traveling to Cincinnati on business.

First time staying here based mainly on my recent leaning towards Marriott brand hotels and the solid history of trip advisor reviews on this place. It did not disappoint. Friendly service and the suite - it was awesome. Kitchenette with nice cabinets, dishes - even wine glasses and a wine key.

The downstairs has a nice bar and lounge area with a decent enough selection of drinks and a nice atmosphere. Fairly easy to walk to most downtown places. We will be back!

Everything at the Residence Inn is above and beyond. The rooms are large and roomy and extremely clean. The location is perfect. It is walking distance to the Banks, US Bank Arena, the Reds stadium, and Paul Brown. The front desk is the best I have ever dealt with. They are on top of it. If you need a taxi, it is there within minutes. Our car was ready within minutes of us walking downstairs regardless of how busy they were. The breakfast is what you would expect at a nice restaurant. Very professional every step of the way.

We had selected the Residence Inn partly because of its location, but primarily because of the great reviews it received. We were not disappointed. It is in a great location, with easy access to sports venues, shopping, restaurants etc. It is also an attractive building and the interior is nicely appointed. We really enjoyed relaxing in front of the fireplace at the end of the day.

The biggest asset, however, is the staff. They were all excellent, and are easily on par with the standards of much "higher end" hotels (and would put some to shame). We were made to feel welcomed and appreciated right from the start by Michaela who checked us in and Brian who handled our luggage. It continued with the bar staff, the kitchen staff and everyone else we came into contact with. This is clearly a very well run hotel.

Our only disappointment was that the bar was not open for lunch - we had been planning on getting some food before we left for the airport on the last day. Not a big deal and it did not detract from our stay.

If our travels bring us back to Cincinnati, we will definitely stay here again.

Thank you for the excellent review of our hotel. I am very excited to hear that you found out hotel to live up to the great reviews we have received! I am especially excited to hear you found our staff to be our greatest asset as I could not agree more that it is the team in the hotel that makes the hotel experience a great one. I will absolutely share your great comments with both Brian and Michaela (two of our superstars!).

We will continue to look at ways we can expand our food and beverage offerings at the hotel to ensure we can provide an all-around great experience for each and every guest.

Thank you again for your great review and we absolutely look forward to your next stay with us.
