The hotel is located just a few blocks from the University of Cincinnati making it a great place to stay if visiting the campus or attending a football game. However, the location is not so handy if you're only going to remain in the downtown area (for business or going to a Bengals game).
The Hampton in is new and as such is very clean and comfortable. Parking is free but you must get a pass from the front desk when you check in. My room was a good size (room 514) and certainly larger than the rooms my colleagues were staying in.
The beds were quite comfortable and the air conditioning worked perfectly to allow me to have a good night's sleep.
The breakfast area - which is really the lobby area - is for too small when the hotel is full. However, breakfast is included with the room and the food was decent and there was a variety of hot and cold items (cereals, oatmeal, eggs, waffles, etc.).
The immediate neighborhood is not great. Vine Street has certainly seen better days and there weren't a lot of places I say that I would eat at.
