“excellent hotel, friendly and super helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Super friendly staff that have pride in their work. Amazing cleanliness. Attention to detail. Great breakfast. Terrific stay. Recommend this hotel to all. Not so sure of the location because we were just in and out, but were super pleased with absolutely everything and everyone.

We have stayed at several Hampton inns this past year and this by far was the nicest. The staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. They allowed us to check in early because my son was having surgery at a nearby hospital. It seemed to be a newer building that is taken very good care of. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. It was updated, clean and convenient to Cincinnati attractions like the zoo. The breakfast was very good. I can not wait to stay at this location again. The only con would be the parking fee which is understandable because its in a bigger city.

My daughter got married in Cincinnati and chose this property for her out of town guests. What impressed me was the staff. Every person we came into contact with showed excitement and happiness towards the wedding. We were told again and again if we needed anything at all, don't hesitate to ask. And if we did ask, we were immediately satisfied. The front desk staff was sure to give gift bags to our guests upon arrival. The maid offered extra towels, cups, etc. when she realized guests would be in and out of the bridal suite. In addition, champaign and glasses were in the room as a welcome gift for the happy couple. The staff who worked the breakfast area too were friendly and eager to please. When the bridal party was leaving for the ceremony, the staff that were working the floor stood in the hallway and clapped as we went by calling out congratulations and clapping--that just added to the happy excitement. I just can't say enough about the friendly and helpful attitudes of the staff. Many thanks to every one of them that helped my daughter's special day be even more wonderful!

Room Tip: Although there is an underground garage, park in the parking lot above. Getting in late at night, I...

At the top of the Hampton class, this property exceeds the already high Hilton standards. Fast friendly check in (look for the BIG cookies on right side of check in desk) with free bottled water to refresh from a long drive. Rooms are good size, beds very comfortable, water pressure in shower excellent and very quite. Breakfast offers wide selection in a very impressive room. Photos throughout are very well done as artwork. The GM here (Valarie Orr) really has her staff up to speed. Overall spotless housekeeping. $9 self park...don't park on the street in this transitional neighborhood. Close to med center and UC.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The room was clean and quiet. We at breakfast late on Saturday and the food was cold. Sunday morning we ate earlier and it was much better. We love the location as we are able to walk to events on the UC campus and it is convenient to our daughters' apartment when we visit.

This hotel was very clean and the staff was absolutely WONDERFUL!! The breakfast buffet was nice and the food was fresh. The parking was reasonable and there wasn't an issue with trying to find a place to park. The location wasn't far from downtown Cincinnati and other places like the Zoo and Botanical Gardens, but I'd advise you drive. The one thing that this hotel didn't have which would have been nice is refrigerators in the rooms. Not the end of the world, but would be nice. All else was good and would definitely stay again.

Although a beautiful new property in an ideal location, the hotel provides a poor guest experience due to unhelpful and surly staff and management. Recently we stayed there for Cincinnati's Flying Pig Marathon weekend. The hotel did not recognize participants or make any special arrangements whatsoever. In fact, they did just the opposite: They put a sign out at the desk informing us all that there would be NO extended checkouts. What a waste of a wonderful opportunity to build loyalty and welcome potentially regular guests!! It wouldn't have cost the hotel anything to extend checkouts for runners. Instead, they made us all angry and inconvenienced us. Welcome to Cincinnati, chumps!

I sincerely apologize that our staff's efforts to make it known to such a large group such as the Flying Pig Marathoner's that we could not accommodate any additional late check out requests gave our hotel an atmosphere of not being friendly.

Our check in time is 3pm and our check out time is 11am. We understand that there are circumstance where a late check out is unavoidable and absolutely do our best to extend that time, however the amount of requests we were receiving from our guests at check in were well after our check in time and unfortunately, would have caused issues in being unable to provide clean, comfortable rooms to our arriving guests - with the same courtesy that you (and many others) received at check in.

Although not having a later check out was an inconvenience, the reason that we posted such information in advance was so that other arrangements could be made before the actual Flying Pig Race began.

We did however accommodate any guests that were staying with us for the Flying Pig with a "Breakfast To Go" Bag (that is usually only available Monday through Friday per Brand Standards) that included a bottle of water, a muffin, a cereal bar, a piece of fresh fruit conveniently bagged, ready to go so that Runners who would be missing our Hot "On the House" breakfast would still be able to enjoy something to start their day.

Our signage also noted that we could hold Guest's luggage that would need to check out but be returning from the marathon for their vehicles later in the day and the hotel did not charge any additional parking fee for cars left.

As a hotel that is generally sold out every day of the week, it is not possible to accommodate all requests as we receive as we have to take into consideration the incoming arriving guests as well as the outgoing, departing guests.

With just a 4 hour guaranteed window to accomplish this promised check in time of 3pm, the availability for extended check out is limited.

The Flying Pig Race is an annual Downtown Cincinnati Event and although our hotel is within close proximity to where the race is held, we do not provide a shuttle but felt that our staff was very accommodating to not just guests that were attending the Marathon but those that were also in the hotel for Weddings and other events.

As there was no mention of any other issues with your stay except for the late check out, I assume that you otherwise enjoyed your stay.

I have noted your concerns so that maybe the Staff and I can come up with a better solution so that you (and others) feel just as accommodated as our arriving guests.

I truly hope that you return to our hotel next year and if I can assist in any way possible, I will do my best. Please feel free to contact me.
