“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2012

We stayed here on Christmas night and everything was terrific except for one thing (hence the 4/5 stars). The place seems really new and was very clean. Price was reasonable, fitness room was great, and the pool was good for the kids. Parking was free and it wasn't too far from the highway. We were just passing through, but the hotel is clearly in a central location uptown and I could see why that would be a big draw for others.

Timm at the front desk checked in our family of 4 (two grade school kids, my husband and me) and was wonderful. He was professional, friendly, knowledgeable- all you could ask for in a front desk employee who had to work on Christmas. We brought our dinner and ate in the lobby (microwave was available, good seating, and a big tv for the car-weary kids). Very nice.

The rooms were clean, spacious and modern. There was free Wi-fi, cable TV, comfy beds, decent towels and a good shower. I suppose we all would have slept like babies except for the one thing- that dang in-room heater/AC unit cycled on and off all night. It was horrible and there wasn't anything we could do about it. Very frustrating for an otherwise stellar hotel. Breakfast and a good run on the treadmill with a dip in the pool for the kids (plus check out at 11am) made it all a good place to stay.

We'd stay here again... but only after checking the working order of the in room heater/AC unit.

First time at a Hampton and I'll be back. This property is like new and the staff is very welcoming and helpful. They also have a nice breakfast that is not just baked goods and pastries. A good value for the price.

Room Tip: If you enjoy to swim. Bring a suit.

VERY upset with my stay here. Even though the location was central and the front desk nice, you guys agreed to make check out work for us and weeks later I'm STILL trying to get you to fix the bill. VERY frustrating!!! No one knows how to help and it is all very unprofessional.

This Hampton Inn has just opened. The service was excellent, and this is a great hotel, at a good price. The hotel is located right next door to the West (main) campus of the University pf Cincinnati and across the street from the East (Medical) campus. It would be the perfect launching point for visiting U. of C. It has everything that one expects of a Hampton Inn: good free breakfast, excellent and free wireless Internet, decent exercise room, and very good customer service. You will need a car to reach restaurants, as the surrounding neighborhood (other than the University buildings) is residential and there is no place to eat that is within walking distance (except at the University). In comparison with the Marriott Kingsgate, which is across MLK Drive from this hotel, this hotel has FREE parking, and the rates that I saw were cheaper here. This hotel is slightly farther from the Medical campus than the Marriott, but is still just across the street from the U. of C. Medical Sciences Bldg. Overall, I would very highly recommend this Hampton, and will definitely stay here on my next trip to Cincinnati.

Myself and to other individuals stayed at the hotel on 10-15-11 to 10-16-11. We had 2 rooms which were very clean and neat. The hotel provided free WIFI for all of our devices. Laptop, Iphone 4 and I pad 2. Was able to connect to their network with no problem. The hotel was a good location were we attended a concert at Bogarts was no more than a mile. The area was less than desirable would not recommend being out too late especially if you may be by yourself. We did not encounter any issues from individuals. After the concert we went back to the hotel until check out the next morning. The hotel does serve a breakfast which was good to have before hitting the road. The price of our rooms were affordable. Each room we had the double queens.

Room Tip: Try not to book rooms close to the elevator due to foot traffic on and off.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2011

I stayed two nights in October and this was a great find in the University of Cincinnati area. We had one large king bed, with sitting area, large flat screen TV, refrigerator and bar area. The room was clean and furnished nicely. The towels were large and not the thin type you sometimes get in a hotel. Breakfast was included and they always had a supply of hot coffee. The attendants for breakfast and the hotel staff from maids to desk staff were friendly and smiled at everyone. Cookies are placed out on the check in desk at night to grab on your way in. I left my checkbook in the room and it was turned in by the maid. They have a nice clean workout area, and indoor pool. I loved this place and would highly recommend it to anyone needing a hotel in the area.

Room Tip: I think you probably cannot get a bad room!

I traveled here on business and had a great stay. Front desk staff was incredibly helpful. Amenities are really nice. My only concern is the surrounding area. I'm not completely familiar with the area, but wouldn't wander outside at night. I would definitely stay here again.
