this was a fun, fun, restaurant. everyone was lined up by 11 am for the opening at 12 noon on saturday. we left our home address at 6 am to get here in line in time for the first seating. you sit w strangers if your party can't fill up a table. since everyone was having a good time, all were friendly and talkative. the waitress was helpful and informative. terry carter signed my Guy Fieri book while i took pictures and the workers all moaned. the whole crew seems to work really well together. the atmosphere is half the fun. terry's place is full of neon lights and old signs. the outside decor is a trip in itself. ok, so we enjoyed the environment. now the food. we had the filet mignon chili. yummy. wasn't a large enough bowl for us, but we made do. it would have been nice if we could have ordered a larger bow for splitting ($5.50). the chili was very thick and FULL of meat. i am told he uses pork shoulder and filet. it was wonderful and seasoned just right. we also ordered 2 hamburgers and my favorite was the mango tequila jalapeno. here's how it works...you order the hamburg or chicken, etc. and then order extra whatever sauce you like. that is $2.00 extra. the basic hamburg comes w choice of lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, banana peppers, 2 slices cheese. they will grill the onions and peppers if you want. sauces are roasted red pepper and goat cheese, mango curry, peanut and garlic, red curry ginger, etc. our second hamburg was with burgundy wine and wild mushrooms and truffle. this is the only suace that is $2.50. the hamburg was juice, messy, moist, hot, tasty and large. my only complaint is i think we got an old bun because the edge of one side was hard as a rock. it must have touched something that caused this or was not air tight in that spot or something. a soft bun would have made this experience perfect. it's the only reason i would give it a 4 star. my husband had so much fun it says, no, it's a 5 star. i'll go with his opinion today. it's worth the trip if you have time to get in line. it's one of the few places we have traveled to from diners, drive-ins, and dives that we would whole heartly return to. ENJOY!
