“A good night's sleep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

This hotel is pricey but it is the Westin so it should not be a surprise. The value of this place is its beds. They are great and you get a restful sleep which is priceless if you think about it when you are on the road. The hotel is very well located with the whole downtown core within walking distance. I would stay there again if I could find a cheap rate.

Room Tip: There are a number of parking lots around the hotel where you can get a much cheaper rate than the h...

Typical Westin, though would greatly benefit from a remodel. The room is a bit dated. I typically choose a room that overlooks Fountain Square which is nice. Convenient to many things downtown. I always stay here when I'm in Cincinnati for work. Service is excellent. I particularly like that there's a Kinko's (Fedex Office) and a USBank downstairs. Definitely a better choice vs. Hilton, Millennium, and Hyatt, although Hyatt is renovating. It's a bit overpriced but the convenience makes up for it for me.

No restaurant inside the hotel. The three elevators were not enough. Waited very long time to catch one so we took the stairs. If I didn't have key I would still be locked in the stairs. Concierge was to get me dinner reservations at a restaurant but didn't. Plus I will take one star away for not having free wi-fi.

It is definitely a pricey hotel, but well worth it. Great location, great staff, great room service, cool pool (17th Floor), etc. Valet for $28 but highly recommended. I'll definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Westin in downtown Cincinnati during a recent weekend visit to Ohio. The hotel is an easy walk to the stadiums, bars, restaurants and other attractions in downtown and a longer walk or short cab ride to entertainment options in northern Kentucky.
The hotel itself is beginning to show its age a little bit. The rooms are ok, bathrooms are small and look a little a dated, but the shower heads are awesome. The beds were also ok, not the most comfortable I’ve slept in but not the worst. There was no min bar in the room. The hotel staff was friendly, courteous and very helpful.
Overall the hotel was a very average downtown hotel. Had the Hilton not been sold out I would likely have stayed there. For the price (a little over $200 a night) visitors to downtown Cincinnati can probably a better value and a more updated hotel.

Room Tip: Check other options before you commit.

The room was not terribly clean, which is to say it showed wear. The bed was horribly uncomfortable and sheets had tears and stains. The singular saving grace was the staff was very friendly.

I wont return simply because I know I can get the same value ($200/night after tax) at a Hampton Inn.

There is something going on at the Westin. Perhaps there is new management. Maybe they're feeling heat from the 21 C Hotel or the new Marriott being built a block away, but the service and customer care have improved exponentially. Staff have been placed strategically to direct check in and to make sure things go smoothly. Even if the front desk gets backed up, Westin employees engage and charm while you wait. Luggage personnel (the term "bell boy" needs to perish) are pleased to tell you about Cincinnati's fine restaurants, lively bars, and interesting sights. Cleaning staff never fail to say hello and make you feel like an honored guest. Valet parking now moves like a well oiled machine. While this is all fantastic, the rooms are a still a bit stale and dark. Bathrooms are spacious, but also need a freshening up. The HVAC system only works some of the time. However, the Westin is still the best price point for accommodation in downtown Cincinnati. Other hotels are nipping at their heels, but for now, considering the price of both the 21 C and the the Rennaisance Inn, the Westin is the Cincinnati hotel for me.
