“Great Mexican!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Our daughter had highly recommended El Sombrero so when driving through Walla Walla, we wanted to give it a try. First, as other reviewers mention, it does seem like a restaurant with pride. It's immaculate, warm and casual decor, beautiful and abundant flowers in front, and great service. Two salsas are served with the chips and both are very good and a bit unusual. We had chicken fajitas and they were among the best I've had. It's hard to describe why but everything was a cut above the norm - the chicken/onions/pepper mix was very tasty, as were the refried beans and rice. The prices were great; we were there for a late lunch and the fajitas were $10. Try it - I'm sure you'll be pleased!

“Pleasant dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Host was very accomodating when we asked for a particular table. Dinner was excellent and average prices for this type food and selection. Served promptly and was hot. Service was excellent, but suggest they use much larger bowls for the salsa. One tiny bowl for 3 individuals was not adequate.

“Pride!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

The first thing noticed when you walk up is the beautiful murals and detailed landscaping and plants, and when you walk in the traditional art work if fabulous.

All of this says to me PRIDE.

We've eaten here a number of times; we do not live in the area, but any time we are near it's simple. We are eating at El Sombrero.

The food is consistently great, the service is wonderful and the employees make us feel like family. We always leave feeling glad we chose El Sombrero. They've never let us down.

Again, the art work is wonderful, and we suggest walking around and enjoying it!

“I love El SombrEehh-rO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

After being in Asia, their Mexican food is the closest thing to Mexico: it is genuine and authentic cuisine: their crisp chips and salsa! Guacamole! Juicy pollo, carne-asada and tasty frejo-litos! It is muy bueno and tastes good too! It’s a block or 2 off the main road; but prices are very good and worth every bit. Go enjoy the rustic atmosphere, traditional hard working caballeros and senoritas on staff and the fine hospitality of old Mexico.

“Good food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

Ate there with a my daughter's softball team. The service was extremely quick, especially given that there were several large parties there that night. The food was good, and the price reasonable. Will definitely eat there again.
