“Nice tasting room, great wines.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Tristan, our server, was very informative and we enjoyed our sampling of wines. Washington State wines have really come along and rival those from anywhere else.

“Winemaker Dinner ..... FAB!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

If you are in the Walla Walla, WA region for wine tasting, I highly suggest Dunham Cellars located by the airport. My wife and I attend a Wine Maker Dinner on September 22, 2012 for our anniversary. We were greeted and given a glass of wine until the remaining dinner guests arrived by very friendly staff.

The dinner started with a tour by the senior winemaker, Eric Dunham. We got to see how wine is made from when it arrives from the vineyard as grapes, the pressing, placed into barrels to age and then bottled. We were able to see the passion that Eric has for his wine as he described the process.

The dinner was fabulous, created by a local chef. You were not rushed with each course. The wine paired well and the pouring was very generous. And at times, you could revisit the current pouring again if you could get the attention to a staff member. The Dunham Cellars event coordinator saw to every detail. Including a personal introduction with Eric Dunham.

I believe where we ate is their tasting room. Very open since this was an airplane hangar. Eclectic in decor. There are leather couches to settle down in for an intimate experience. Also trinkets to look and purchase.

I would recommend Shirley Mays Chardonnay (ask the staff where they got the name) and the Lewis Vineyard Merlot.

Yes, they may have switched over to screw tops. But do not let this fool you. The wines at Dunham Cellars are truly wines that you need to try and bring home. Perhaps, join the wine club to continue the Dunham Cellars experience. In all honesty, if it were not for all the wine clubs that we are with at the moment, we would have signed up. They are at the top of our list and will revisit the next time we are in Walla Walla.

Thank you for such a positive review! We are extremely honored that you chose to celebrate such a special occasion with us at one of our Harvest Winemaker Dinners. We hope that you will be able to join us again next year.

Have no fear, only our Three Legged Red has gone to screw cap. Same great wine, just easier to open!

“Nice wines”

Located in the airport region, this winery has a good stable of wines. Some relatively inexpensive blends are probably the best bargains.
