“Apple pancakes...a MUST try!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013 via mobile

I've been waiting to try this place but was concerned about a long wait...it's very popular breakfast spot. The Sunday brunch wait was under 30 minutes; not too bad. Service was ON IT despite being super busy. The mimosas were great I want to come back for the red beer. I can recommend the biscuits and gravy (my father's seal of approval), corn beef hash...but the big winner was the signature apple pancake!!!! It's big enough for 3 or take away for 3 days! Delish!!!!

“Awesome experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

I'm not sure whether I'm happier with the food, or the service. We needed a table for 10 for a special occasion, at noon on Saturday. Anyone who's been there on the weekends knows that this is next to impossible. We went in an hour early, and Mandy, the hostess, bent over backwards to make it happen. Everyone that works there seems genuinely happy to be there and the service was OUTSTANDING!
We worked our way through the mimosa menu (5-6 variations), and all were delicious. We invented our own; try orange juice and pomegranate! The orange juice is fresh squeezed, by the way. They also have a spicy red beer that very much resembles a Bloody Mary.
Anyone who has said that the portions are large, but not ridiculous, has not ordered their signature apple pancake. It is the size of an entire apple pie, served with housemade apple syrup; to die for. Also memorable was the blueberry cobbler French toast with housemade blueberry syrup. The crunchy topping elevated French toast to a whole new dish. Our benedicts were perfect (yolks runny), and they have 5 variations. Get your whole wheat muffin extra toasted.
All in all, we had a great party, my guests were wowed, and at the end of the day the bill was about half of what I had anticipated. Win, win!

“Scrumptious.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

If there's a wait, it's worth it. Generous portions but not obscenely large. Bacon is thick cut and yummy. Pancakes live up to the rave reviews. Plenty of street parking.

“Fabulous food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We always enjoy a visit here. On a recent visit, we were offered samples of the famous apple pancakes. One nice touch that the restaurant offers are "Maple Counter bucks" to be used on a future visit when you pay in cash.

“Delicious food... Exceptional service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

There is a reason that The Maple Counter Cafe is one of the most popular restaurants in Walla Walla. The food is, of course, delicious... but the primary reason that I enjoy this place so much is the service. Unlike many restaurants, whose chefs turn their noses up at special orders, the Maple Counter does whatever it takes to make your meal just as you like it. No request is too small... Consider it taken care of (and, they don't make you feel bad about it either!!).
Let me share an example. On my last visit, a member of my party (which was a large group of 13) ordered a hamburger. Seconds after it was delivered to the table (before a bite had even been taken), our server came to inform us that the cook regretfully had lost track of time while cooking the burger, feared he had overcooked it, and was currently remaking it.
The burger was so delicious (even overcooked) that we likely would not have complained. It was amazing to see an establishment take such care in preparing their food, and in making every effort to please their patrons.
