“Absolutely Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

One of our daughters wanted to visit Washington wine country and asked my husband and I to come as well. So searching tripadvior I found Stone Creek Manor. What a wonderful place to stay! Christine Beito is a very warm and welcoming host. She can tell you some of the best wineries to visit and some of the interesting history of the town of Walla Walla. But it is her B & B which just knocked our socks off! We stayed in the cottage called "the Office". A surprisingly large and beautifully appointed get away which can sleep four. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable, this cottage has a very comfortable king bed in one room and a queen in another. There is a complete living room, dining room, kitchen, kitchen nook, full bath and half bath. Outside there are comfy seating, tables and umbrellas where we spent one afternoon dining alfresco after visiting the local charcuterie for bread, cheese, dried meats and of course, there was wine! In the mornings Christine and her staff prepared wonderful breakfasts which were very generous in portions. On our last day, my husband and I were the only guests and Christine still insisted on serving us a fabulous breakfast with enough food to feed four or more. She even accommodated my gluten free diet which I greatly appreciated.
The grounds of the B & B is a large grassy lawn securely gated. From the road you see the stately main house in the middle of the property and glimpses of the two cottages off to the left behind the house. Entering the driveway you may be greeted by the two labs and a cat who reside there, and Christine herself will definitely meet you the first time you drive up. Everything is so neat and well taken care of and very picturesque.
We visited Walla Walla in the spring and found the area to be blooming with wheat fields covering the rolling hills and fruit orchards filled with blossoming trees. The weather for that time was clear, cool and crisp. The town of Walla Walla is a surprise. It was like stepping back in time to small town Americana, lovely original homes, grassy front lawns, people walking and biking because you can and the town is still small enough to do so.
We're planning our next trip back and we plan on staying at Stone Creek Manor!

The Stone Creek Manor is a must for anyone visiting Walla Walla. It is gorgeous - the grounds are so beautiful! And the bookend black and white labs who greet you only add to the perfection. There are two cottages - all delightfully decorated and SPOTLESS. There are two bedrooms in the main house - if you are worried about privacy which can sometimes happen in a house, don't....they are on either side of a landing and each has their own wonderful deck - one facing east and one west. The owner's daughter, Lauren, took excellent care of us when we stayed...calling to see when we would arrive and was never rushed to answer our endless questions about wineries, food, etc... I don't think I could stay anywhere else in Walla Walla - I've been spoiled! It is an easy walk or bike ride into town - perhaps a bit far after dinner but during the day just fine. About one and a quarter miles? And, if you pick the right street, which Lauren will lead you to, the walk is through gorgeous old turn of the century houses. There is one minor issue....the cottages, although two bedrooms are only one bath - so everyone has to share a shower. And they are showers, not tubs. If the master bedrooms had their own bath with tub this place would be perfect! The breakfasts are delicious and hearty - not upscale but good, solid food (read cinnamon buns and scrambled eggs!).

Stone Creek Manor is every vacationers idea of a dream B&B! Christine Beito has a beautiful place, in an ideal setting, that she and her team tend to with loving care along with 5 star hospitality and service. We just concluded a 5 day stay here and were delighted and surprised every day with the outstanding breakfast, tremendous winery recommendations and appointments, as well as a level of personal service and responsiveness that exceeded our expectations. Add in two wonderful Labrador Retrievers (for us dog lovers), and you have a home away from home that most only dream of. Our stay in the Office Suite provided both the space and privacy we needed, along with all of the comforts of home. The refrigerator was stocked with sodas, juices and waters, the spacious Office Suite included a full kitchen, two spacious bedrooms, and a large dining room space, along with 1.5 baths. The outdoor spaces were equally enjoyable with three separate seating areas (tables, chairs, umbrellas, etc.), as well as access to a large gas grill that we used to cook some ribeyes from Blue Mountain Meats. Christine knows many of the vineyard owners and
winemakers
in the Walla Walla area, and cheerfully made appointments for us for private reserve tastings, and special cellar tours. In addition, she provided a valuable connection to a car service that we used for all of our vineyard tours and tastings.

In addition, Ms. Beito knew all of the restaurants in the Walla Walla area, and recommended some to us. We enjoyed those recommended restaurants tremendously.

If you are planning a visit to Walla Walla, this is the place to stay!

Room Tip: Couples should opt for the Carriage House or Office Suite.

Nothing could have prepared us for the Stone Creek Manor. We had driven from Missoula through heavily timbered mountains then rolling wheat fields before arriving in the late afternoon.
We had done some research but were still pleasantly surprised but what we found: Walla Walla is not unlike our home - in the state of South Australia - with its reliance on the wheat and wine industries.
The manor stood out like a beacon compared to some of the many B&Bs we stayed at during our 8-week odyssey around the West Coast and Mid West.
Our accommodation in one of the guest cottages was first-rate: modern kitchen, spacious bedrooms with large TVs, air-con, top-line furniture, outdoor settings in a corner of the sprawling and large backyard with its lawns and shady trees - and fridge stocked with softdrinks and sumptuous snack platter as well a bottle of red!
And the communal breakfast - well, that was extremely filling and appetising.
We stayed just one night but had we know how wonderful this place was, we would have booked for longer.
This place is well worth the money and the town is well worth exploring!

Our first stay at Stone Creek Manor was in late August when we were dropping off our son at college. We were so delighted by our stay that, frankly, I don't think we'll stay anywhere else when we travel to Walla Walla (unless SCM is fully booked!). We were greeted with two bottles of local wine and a delicious platter of appetizers. We were in the "Office" cottage at SCM with beautiful bed linens, plenty of space for my husband to work while I read, two patios for sun or shade, lovely gardens and grounds around the manor. What could be better? Did I mention the breakfast? Replete with fresh, local fruit, salad, pastries, eggs from the hens on the property, etc. Delicious!

We just completed our second stay yesterday, and we stayed in the equally lovely "Carriage House." What I love about Stone Creek Manor is that it is romantic and private, and yet Christine is an interesting and wonderful hostess (great recommendations of restaurants, places to hike, wineries to visit). We have already planned our third visit for early December! Now that is high praise.

Architectural gem tucked into quiet gardens behind a private gate. We were impressed with estate setting, details and all, starting with a very personal reservation system in a very impersonal reservation world. More than a B&B this feels like Aunt Mary's summer home, with the labs greeting you upon arrival and the kitties patrolling the yard. A step back in time. Beautiful master bdrm with fresh flowers and sunny oversized balcony, antique classy original bathroom, wine and cheese waiting in small fridge with other cold drinks; quiet, nice breakfast, couldn't have asked for more. Since we weren't there on Fri or Sat, we had the whole place to ourselves, an absolute treat, no interruptions, a perfect getaway, we even played crocket and walked through ample garden catching view of creek and watching chickens in back...

Room Tip: can't go wrong

My wife and I spent the weekend and highly recommend staying here. A few things we loved:

Exceptional hospitality. Simply couldn't be any better! Gracious hosts who are dedicated to making each visit a great one.

Terrific breakfasts including eggs from the backyard coop.

Beautiful mansion decorated with 1920's style furnishing on wonderful grounds.
