Walla Walla's downtown exudes small-town charm, but there is nothing small town about these modern, well-equipped accommodations on the second floor of a rehabbed brick building. Our unit, #5, was spacious, modern and handsomely decorated, more like our own apartment than the usual hotel. There was a full-size kitchen, also a full-size laundry in the bathroom with its jetted soaking tub (plus great shower!). Thoughtful touches abounded, including a complimentary bottle of Walla Faces Syrah (tasting room downstairs), along with complimentary two beers and canned juice in the frig. The central location on Main Street allowed us to sample Walla Walla's culinary and winery delights by walking everywhere. We had but two minor quibbles -- the platform bed frame needed some padding since it poses a real threat to someone getting out of bed in the middle of the night; having a great washer & dryer was welcome, but at least a single serving of laundry soap would have been helpful in an emergency. Lastly, an unusual coded, keyless entry system to the building and our room worked perfectly. The free parking behind the building completed this most appealing lodging package -- a decided step up from chain hotels & motels but providing a genuine Walla Walla experience. Bravo! Bravo!
