“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

The hotel is in the style of the Old South, such an impression when you first enter the lobby with a two story high ceiling. Very grand! Our room was very comfortable and clean, the staff was friendly. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they were offering an evening reception, with free snacks and even beer and wine. The food was great, and we ended up making that our dinner. Certainly added even more value to our room! Another good Hampton experience! It is right across the street from the Vicksburg National Military Park, which is very convenient. We walked over in the evening and just looked around the immediate entrance area, with the cannons and some memorials. Very pleasant - we did the full tour the next day.

sbk117,

Thanks for letting us know about your stay. It was great having you here and we look forward to seeing you again in the future. We are glad you enjoyed the evening reception and the military park located across the street. This marks the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Vicksburg. Be sure to ask about the additional attractions that are available during the sesquicentennial. Any Associate will be glad to assist you with details and directions.

We had initially planned to make a straight trip to Alabama from Texas. After a recommendation from friends, we decided to make a stop in Vicksburg to visit the National Military Park. The Hampton Inn is located across the street from the entrance to this park. How convenient! My boys (11 and 13) really enjoyed this park. This is a must for families if you are in the area. The hotel is also right next to a gas station so filling up and grabbing ice is a cinch. The hotel itself is well kept and beautifully furnished. They have a good sized indoor pool and the kids loved that. Comfy beds, a good variety of breakfast offerings and a great hotel staff. We will definitely make this our hotel of choice next time we make it to Vicksburg.

Stayed for 1 night on our way to New Orleans. No complaints from me. Clean, good price and curtious staff. There is no hotel bar though, which I found to be a bit unusual, but not a big deal. Hotel is directly across the Vicksburg National park, which was an incredible tour!

I have stayed at the property before and will stay again. This staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and roomy. Property is fairly close to eating and easy access to shopping. This is one of the best Hampton hotels!

We stayed at this Hampton Inn in Vicksburg the weekend after July 4 while driving back from Charleston to Dallas. I called while on the road to make the reservation and got the last room in the hotel, a king suite. We had been driving for hours in the pouring rain so getting there was a relief. When we checked in, a complimentary beer and wine reception was going on in the lobby so that was a nice surprise. The room was large and quiet and they accommodated our family of five by bringing a roll away bed into the room. We had dinner at the Walnut Hills Restaurant just minutes away with fine home cooking and live entertainment. It was a fun way to end our vacation. We would stay at this Hampton Inn again.
