“Perfect lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

I had a wonderful lunch at Anchuca. Chicken salad with a side of fruit salad - my meal also came with a choice of soup, I chose Asparagus bisque. All of the food was delicious and the portions were very generous. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The Cafe is very quaint and very Southern. I loved it!

“Pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2012

At the time we visited, the Trip Advisor reviews touted $10-$20 meals, but the menu read more like $25-$40. Well drinks and beer were the same price ($6), so why not get a bourbon? The waitress asked if I had a preferred brand, which I did but they didn't carry, so she asked if I wanted Makers Mark or Crown Royale. Hey, no wonder the drinks are six bucks! But it turned out (after 2 drinks) that those brands were $9, not $6. I never did find out what brands were $6 - probably Pabst.
There was a big party out back, so we felt like red-headed stepchildren trying to get served. We ordered beef, but apparently the big party had depleted the beef supply, so we had to get something else. Three couples came in, BTW, and turned around and left when they found out the beef was gone, so apparently that's their specialty.
The food was good, just not what we wanted. Overall, a good dining experience but not at those prices. Worth going, but we'll try someplace else next time.

“An elegant Old South lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I have just enjoyed wonderful southern hospitality and great gumbo and chicken salad in a very relaxed (yet white tablecloth) atmosphere. We were early but they seated us and gave us coffee. Since we had 30 minutes. Erode they started serving they also gave us a tour of the historic home.
