“Excellent seafood on the banks of the Mississippi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

I was in Vicksburg for work and had several of the locals to try out Rusty's Riverfront Grill. One gal in particular said to try the fried green tomatoes with the lump crab. So, after our shift, we headed off. Rusty's is located on the bank of the Mississippi, in the historic downtown of Vicksburg. It is a beautiful area. I'd like to have a chance to explore a bit more.

Dinner was delicious! we had the crawfish appetizer along with those fried green tomatoes with crab! It had a wonderful tartness that accented the creamy crab sauce. Very nice. I went with the Maine lobster stuffed with crab for my entree. It was excellent! After trying to be elegant with utensils I finally just decided to dig in with my hands. It wasn't pretty! We were too full for dessert this time around.

Prices were very reasonable for what we got. A good solid value!

“Rusty's is not to be missed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

We were not disappointed with Rusty's. Casual dining in the historic district of Vicksburg where they make you feel like one of the family. Food was fresh and delicious and the service was outstanding. Calamari starter was excellent and the gumbo was delicious. Walked off our calories downtown viewing the murals along the riverfront.

“Worth seeking out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

First of all, get the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer. They are really good and there are enough to share. We went at lunch and had to wait but they provide comfy benches and you can scan the menu. Staff is friendly and the food is good. I didn't eat all the breading on the oyster po boy. Hard to get your face around it. Two companions also liked their meal. Unlimited tea and they didn't even blink when one asked for another glass of tea to go. It's a ways down Washington street but worth finding.

“Great appetizer and then very bad steak.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

Fried green tomato with crab sauce was the starter and it was divine....Thought we were in for a treat. Then the filet steaks came and they were not a good cut of meat and very highly seasoned - almost like they were marinated. Not good at all - one cooked perfect and another very over cooked. Another of our party had crab cakes and thought they tasted strange. Service was just ok. I would try another place next time.
