Friend was electrocuted in the room

My friend was laying on the bed and stretched his arms over his head, he reached behind the pillows and got shocked. He jumped and was acting crazy for a second. Once he regained his bearings, we looked and half of the cover on the electrical outlet was missing. I've got some pictures to prove it. We went and told the staff, who was pretty sympathetic about it, and moved our room. They moved us upstairs. After getting the keys and carrying all the bags up, the keys they provided wouldn't open the door. I went back to the front desk (it was a hot day, and I was already sweating), and was given two more keys. I went back up and they didn't work either. I went back to the desk, and they walked up there with the regular door key to unlock it. They called maintenance to fix the door. He showed up probably an hour later (with 3 kids that were running around the hotel screaming). He questioned me like I broke the door, then took about a half hour to fix it.

You can bet I won't be staying there again. Oh, my friend got a coupon for a free dinner out of getting electrocuted... Which he didn't even have a chance to use. Thankfully he was ok, and doesn't want to sue.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for our first anniversary 14 years ago, so I decided to go back there to stir up some memories. Apparently the rooms have not been updated since then. Cleanliness was poor, breakfast left a lot to be desired, TV was small and poor quality, Wi-Fi internet signal was very weak even though we were close to the lobby. Overall, the room was not worth the $82 (including tax) that we paid. We were disappointed this second time around.

My husband and I stayed at this motel. The staff was inattentive, if not downright rude. The rooms were small and the shower took some fiddling to make it work. The sink wouldn't close properly, and the t.v. was probably new in 1950. Everything about the place seemed left over from the 50s when ithe hotel was probably at the top of its game. The food at jacques restaurant was good, but the breakfast left much to be desired. The scrambled eggs were a glop that seemed hours old.

The used towels were taken away but not replaced and the coffee was not replaced the second night.

It rained during our stay and water pooled outside the doors to the back entrance.

We would never go back -- even if they offered a night free.

Don't make the same mistake we did! We booked the stay with the hotel for one rate, and when we arrived with the confirmation number they could not find the reservation. We were offered a room at a higher rate ($20 more) and decided to stay because we were tired from a 12 hour trip. We wanted to play on the "miniature golf course", but when we saw it we decided to not waste our time. The boys were disappointed. The next morning when we checked out, I paid with my credit card and when we got down the road discovered it was another $5 more than we had been quoted the night before. Won't ever stay there again!

I called 3 months early to reserve 4 adjoining rooms for a family trip. We were bringing 3 daughters and 4 grandkids to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We had stayed here twice before and really enjoyed the stays both times. I also called a day before arrival to confirm 4 adjoining rooms would be available, advised no problem. Upon arrival,I was informed we did indeed have 4 rooms, but, not adjoining, when I mentioned I had reserved months in advance,I was given a shoulder shrug and told "Sorry,we do the best we can" However, when one of my daughters complained her air conditioner wasnt working, she was cheerfully and promptly given a room adjoining her sister, which didn`t seem to be available 30 minutes earlier, Go figure. Anyway, the kids enjoyed the nice, big pool,we enjoyed the daily happy hours with a nice, friendly bartender, the breakfasts were great except for the hair my husband found in his bowl of fruit cocktail. My daughter really enjoyed the dinner she won free upon check in at her turn on the slot machine. When we walked into Jaques with a party of nine, the hostess seemed shocked, but, rallied and shoved some tables together for us and we enjoyed a great meal, (warning) expect to wait at least an hour for your food. so,I went there early the next evening and put our name down for a table for 9,but,upon arrival, was curtly told there were no tables, despite the fact there were several empty tables in the dining room. Ater we waited about half an hour, she gave up and again shoved some tables together for us,again,we really enjoyed the meal when it finally came. To sum up,the good parts are:: the pool, the happy hour, the location, the food(when you can get it). The bad::rooms are non too clean, the place is clearly getting run down, staff does not seem as friendly and caring as in prior years, also, the cannon in the courtyard is missing, dont bother making reservations either for rooms or in the resturant, they are clearly not top priority. We loved this place in previous years, but, will probably not come back.
