This hotel is on the far side of Waikiki near Diamond Head, with Kapiolani Park across the street.
We chose this hotel because the rooms have recently been renovated in a spacious, clean, asian style. They are spotless and very comfortable, with hardwood floors, platform bed, 2 balconies on our corner location and lots of room to store our suitcases and golf bags. After travelling around for 7 weeks, this was a good choice for us. Quiet, with a view of Diamond Head and all the walkers and joggers that pass by every morning.
There is not a restaurant in operation yet so it is a hike or a drive to find food. The valet parking is well run by very nice young men. There is coffee and wine served in the lobby at various times of the day. Beach towels and chairs are available to sit at the small beach down the path.
If you are looking for the hubbub of typical Waikiki, you will probably be disappointed in this hotels location, but there is very good value in the room size, location and renovations. We will definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

I was in Honolulu for work and stayed at the Aqua Lotus for 6 days. I was pleasantly surprised with the clean, modern, and comfortable room. A balcony with a view of diamond head and ocean was amazing. The downside to this hotel is that they currently don't have a restaurant, however are in the process of renovating their space and putting a restaurant in. The second downside is the location, at the end of Waikiki it's slightly difficult to get places, however with the weather, it is completely walkable. I was able to walk to the shops and restaurants most of the time, but at night took a taxi. The staff were very accommodating and helpful with recommendations, and the access to a small private beach allows you to escape the wild and packed beaches of Waikiki. If you're looking to be slightly off the beaten path of the noise and cluster of Waikiki, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Bad location. Stay away. I paid for a premium diamond head view and got a view of a tree, roof and parking lot. The pics of the view on the website are misleading. The beach access and beach behind it is small don't even go to it. They don't have decaf coffee so bring your own if you go.

This hotel is the best we’ve ever been to. Not just because of the quiet, clean, and comfortable rooms, but because of their first-class hospitality and generosity. After learning that we got scammed out of our condo and spent the night in the car, they allowed us to check-in at 8 am and even provided a complimentary night on them. They let us stay as long as we needed and gave us a big discount. They also have great amenities: cribs and microwaves for the asking; beach across the parking lot; beach gear and sand toys; complimentary coffee, ice water, and wine. We also loved how it was far enough from Waikiki that it was quiet, but close enough to walk to when we wanted. Thanks Aqua Lotus for saving our vacation.
