“Staff so friendly and in perfect location....beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013 via mobile

Came here for honeymoon, feel so relaxed and at home.
Super clean and friendly, walking distance to centre or $6 by taxi which staff will call for you! Amazing views from balcony and beautiful park across the street.
Quiet beach next door, 5 stars would definitely stay again!

Thank you for your review of the Aqua Lotus Honolulu. Your sentiments reflect what most guests comment on the most and what we consider the details that separate us from most hotels. Whether it be the excellent location, friendly and efficient staff or the number of value added amenities that are provided, this property will not let you down regardless the reason for your trip.

We are hard at work to improve our product offerings and services. In the past few weeks we have added Verismo Espresso machines and new upgraded bed linens, added small touches to our evening turndown housekeeping service and a daily breakfast offering on our second floor. We are very near to announcing a much anticipated operator for our restaurant space that will change the culinary scene in Honolulu for years to come.

We hope to see you again very soon at our charming little hideaway on the Gold Coast.

Aloha,

Matt

I loved this hotel! It had no pool (that's what the ocean is for) but an incredible view of Diamond Head, Kapiolani Park and the Ocean (which was a lovely surprise). We had a corner Diamond Head Premium room on the 7th floor and it was very quiet. The staff were all spectacular! Warm, friendly and extremely helpful (especially the valets and the housekeeping people). It was the perfect distance from noisy, bustling Waikiki. I've stayed in the dead center of Waikiki and I was truly spoiled staying here. There is a small hotel cafe with nice sitting areas but no formal restaurant. They are working on that part. The bed is soft and comfy, the happy hour wine was great and now I don't think I can stay anywhere else. Mahalo and Aloha from a former Kamaina!

Room Tip: Corner rooms on higher levels are quieter and have lovely views with two patios. Great cross breeze...

This was our second stay at this hotel. Previously a W, we enjoyed our room and found it to be in a great location. On our recent stay, we found the Lotus to be as equally as accommodating and the staff even friendlier! Check-in was quick. The valet service is so convenient and fast as well. Being a smaller hotel, you don't get the crowds of people.

The hotel has no real amenities to speak of, no pool or restaurant. However, an awesome beach is steps away and two good restaurants are next door, Hau Tree Lanai in the New Otani hotel and Michel's in the Colony Surf. Michel's serves classic French and has a great view (more on the expensive side). Hau Tree Lanai is more casual, fusion flavors.

We were fortunate enough to stay in The Diamond Head Suite, the penthouse. It's amazing!

If you would like to be near Waikiki and still go shopping, people watch, have choices of restaurants, but sleep a little farther away from the crowds, this location can't be beat. I would recommend this location to anyone who is looking for that mix in Waikiki.

We had a great room #825. It was on the corner so we had a beautiful view of Diamond Head to the left & 2 beautiful views of the ocean to the right. The room was nice, big and comfortable. I was with my niece & sister-in-law so with 3 women, we needed a nice bathroom & that's what we got! Great shower & plenty of counter top space. I requested a microwave & they brought one up. The beds were very comfortable & we slept every night with the sliding glass door open enjoying the fresh air & the sound of the ocean! The room service was awesome, they were soo friendly & gave us complimentary bottles water every day. The desk clerks were the best! I want to give Wes a special thank you for being soo friendly & always having a big smile on his face. He really made us feel welcomed. As I said, everyone there was very attentive & we will definitely go back.
It is about a 15 min walk to the first part of Waikiki but the walk is beautiful & it we stopped in the morning at the Barefoot Cafe & ate breakfast on the beach. The hotel is just a couple of steps from the beach & the hotel lends you beach chairs & towels. I can not say enough about this hotel. I will tell you, you need to get a room on the 8th floor or higher for the view. We booked through Expedia & got an Ocean Premium room at a great price! We are already planning our next trip & I know we will book again at the Aqua Lotus. I've stayed in several other hotels in Waikiki & the rooms were half the size for the same price or more!

This boutique hotel will exceed all your expectations. Perfect location away from the bustle of the concentrated high rise hotels in the center of Waikiki Beach. Yet walkable access to everything. The room was beautiful with great views of Diamond Head and the downtown skyline and beach. Best of all is the friendly attentive staff, providing beach towels and bottles of water whenever we ventured out. There are two very nice beachside restaurants in the adjacent buildings.

This hotel is in a fantastic location 25 mins easy wallk from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. My room had a specatuclar view of Diamond Head which looked gorgeous throughout the daylight hours. My room was beautifully appointed and a very comfortable place to relax after a hard day at the beach or shopping. Hotel staff are happy to provide beach chairs and towels and there are two small beaches within a few minutes walk. A nearby mini mart provided some essentials. The hotel next door had a rather expensive but quality restaurant and it is a pity the restaurant space in this one is not being utilised but left empty.

First, the hotel doesn't have a pool, beach, nor ocean views. If those are deal-breakers then you may want to stay elsewhere but you would be missing out on a gem.

The Aqua Lotus does have a friendly welcoming staff (valet, front desk, housekeeping, managers), nice Diamond Head views, a location directly across from beautiful Kapiolani Park, good-sized clean contemporary rooms, and it is removed from the crazy madness of the heart of Waikiki (a ten minute walk along the beach). It is about 200 feet from Sans Souci Beach - a really nice swimming beach at the edge of Waikiki. It does offer beach cruiser bikes to explore the local area as well as beach mats and towels for guest use. A unique historic district of older homes and cottages are just steps away at the base of Diamond Head and a good long walk brings you up to the Diamond Head overlook. Access in and out to the rest of Honolulu is easy and you can skirt the traffic on Kalakaua in Waikiki.

Improvements would be an extra elevator (only one) and a full service restaurant - it has a restaurant space that serves breakfast overlooking the park (nice) but it isn't fully operational yet.

I definitely will return here on future trips to Honolulu. I've stayed at the Halekulani (5 star, $$$$$) and the Waikiki Parc (meh...) and I prefer the location of the Aqua Lotus despite its lack of beach & pool. Go figure...
