“Oxtail Soup & Fried Rice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2014

If one enjoys oxtail soup, this is the only place to order it. The flavor has not changed even though name of the restaurant has changed a couple of times. As for the Fried Rice, it is always a great way to start a day in Hawaii.
All of the menu selections are a very good value and the service has always been excellent.

“We always go back to Asahi Grill!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2014

When we cannot think of where else to eat lunch in town, we end up at Asahi Grill! The dining area shows wear and tear but the good food and attentive service makes up for it. The ox tail soup is the best in town (in our opinion, better than The Alley which was recently featured in Guy Fieri's DDD). The fish and local specials are always good, too. Parking is tight but we are always able to find parking in their tiny lot even at noon. Can't go wrong!

“Average food, great service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

This place was easy to find, right next to a bank. Parking is limited, however after i parked and got seated the manager told me a spot had opened up so he saved it for me while i grabbed my truck, great guy. The food was average, but i did enjoy the service.

“Local's Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014 via mobile

This is where you go for breakfast or lunch or dinner if you live here, want something really good and reasonably priced. Two eggs cooked just as ordered (between over easy and medium), sausage, special fried rice, shared bacon and banana pancakes with 90 year old aunt whose been having breakfast here for 10 years. Heard ox tail soup to die for.

“Nice Neighborhood Comfort Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014

Asahi Grill is tucked into a strip mall near Ala Moana Center. Wayson the bartender makes great drinks and their happy hour goes until 8pm. The menu runs the gamut from sandwiches to Asian specialties. They are noted for their oxtail soup.
