You can easily spend $200+ per night in Waikiki but the Prince hotel is only two blocks away from having your toes in the sand at Waikiki Beach! I originally booked a hotel directly across the street from the beach but had to go with the Prince when I saw it would be almost half the price. The rooms aren't anything to brag about - very simple, a bit outdated, but they are clean. We had the small kitchenette and it served our purposes just fine (cooking eggs and making toast). But who cares about what hotel you stay in when you're in HAWAII!? Your vacation is all about what you do outside your hotel. The staff was very kind and answered questions we had about the area. They provided us with beach towels, chairs, and grass mats! On a side note, Waikiki is a loud and bustling city in general. No matter where you stay (unless your on an extremely high floor) you're going to hear street noise, cars, horns, tourists, etc. Our room didn't even have windows but just a screen with wooden or glass slats that flap up or down. We woke up one Sunday morning at 5:45AM to a marathon starting just down the road! So if you care about saving some $ but still being in the heart of where it's at then this is the place!

Room Tip: The top floor is only accessible by stairs, but you may request not to have a room on that floor you...

I chose a cheaper, small room. It was clean and comfortable and cost effective. The room had a slightly musty smell when I arrived, but that cleared once I opened the doors - the room had probably not been used for a few days, and in hawaii's climate...

Location was convenient, very close to beach and fairly central. There was a little street noise, but no noise from other guests.

The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. Reception hours only 8am to 8pm, but that was not a problem as I arrived mid afternoon. Checked out before 87am, but that was just leaving the access card in the room and closing the door.

Since we didn't want to spend too much for a room where we only would sleep in, we decided to book a small room without kitchen for four nights. The hotel is old and not luxurious at all but our room was very clean and served us well for sleeping and showering. Our room was on the 6th floor where you only can get to by taking the elevator up to the 5th floor and then taking the stairs one floor up. But this was fine with us.

Check-in with the manager was easy and he helped us printing the boarding passes later on. For this period of time there is no daily maid service but we don’t need bath towels to be changed daily. If you need new towels you can help yourself at the front desk. Street noise can be a little hassle due to the windows that can't be closed properly but with ears plugs we slept fine. The location just one block away from Kuhio Beach is perfect.

We definitively would choose this hotel again for sleeping in.

This more like home away from home is perfect for the price and convenience of being so close to the beach! 2 minutes your beach side! Need a beach towel? Chair? Boogie board?! Front desk has you covered! Amazing Staff will help you at anytime! Need fresh anything they'll get it for you! Never a bother! Smiles and sincerity will always be the focus! Reese was amazing in helping in anyway he could! The owner Jason was always on top of things! The front desk girl that looked like a local girl was just amazing! All the staff was great! Can't believe such great customer service comes from a place that doesn't cost an arm and a leg! Really appreciated everything! And by the way there was no bug problem... No noise problem... Not any problems! Loved it and will choose it every time! Thank you Waikiki Prince!

Waikiki Prince Hotel is a VERY basic hotel, but ideal if you want something cheap that's just two short blocks to Waikiki Beach and within walking distance of restaurants, supermarkets, bars, shops. We stayed on the 5th floor and had a balcony and views of a car park below, but we could also see the water! The hotel suited us as we just needed a bed for the night before flying back to Australia early the next morning. I'm not sure that I would stay for an extended period as the kitchen was very basic and old and I'd like to be able to cook evening meals. The bed was pretty comfortable and the shower and bathroom were clean and functional. I was a bit wary about security because the balconies were not completely enclosed from the neighbouring balconies. The biggest downside was the WiFi which was slow and we had a lot of difficulty connecting and staying connected.

Room Tip: Room 502 was good.

This a decent hotel that is good enough for those that dont want a pool(prefer the beach), just want a good bed, kitchen, central location, decent rooms and low prices. Staff is really friendly. Location close to everything including buses and beach.
