“Perfect with kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014

Perfect for a family vacation on a budget. Great location: near restaurants, beaches, shops, bus stops. Having a kitchen & fridge was very helpful. Room was not new, but clean & spacious. We had a corner room, having 2 balcony was a plus. The pool was small, but when you have amazing beaches with in walking distance, who needs a pool! Laundry room was small, & bit pricy ($3.25 for wash /dry each). Front desk staff was very friendly & helpful!! Thank you for a great stay. I also received a coupon for $10 off a night on my next stay. I will definitely consider going back to this hotel!

Close to beach and all the shops. Complimentary breakfast buffet style every morning saved is big time from having to find a place to eat every morning or buying our own food. Polite and friendly front desk service. ABC store in the hotel. Very satisfied. No gym though.

Bought a groupon deal in March 2014 for the Waikiki Gateway Hotel. It was so cheap that I booked two rooms. Read reviews on Yelp afterward and thought I made a bad decision. Was pleasantly surprised by the facility. It is an older hotel in need of a re-model. Saying that the staff was friendly and helpful. The elevators were fast. The a/c in the lobby was nice and cold. Parking wasn't too expensive and done by valet. The room was comfortable with an excellent view. We faced Kalakaua Ave and had two balconies. The beds were comfy and the room was large and clean. For the price I would stay there again for sure. Thank you for the great end of our vacation.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the ocean. Loved our room locastion.

We are a couple and we were very satisfied by the rooms and the rates offered by the Waikiki Hotel. It is a good location to access to the beach and the attraction in Waikiki (walking distance and the bus stop is just on the corner of the hotel). Also, the location is specifically good for Waikiki because it is right in front of the Fort-de-Russy park; it is perfect if you want to stay outside all day but no only being to the beach. Indeed, there is a beach at this park + volleyball field, empty space to play ballgames of frisbee, palm trees to lay under the shadow... It is perfect ! On the other hand, I have to say that the employees are very good with the guests. The rooms are regular and convenient. We were in a regular room with 2 double beds and we had the luck to find a deal to rent their penthouse suite, and both were good. Obviously the penthouse was AMAZING, and I recommend it to anybody who is looking for a comfortable deluxe place to stay, that is affordable.

Room Tip: The best deal I found to book a room was directly on their website, not on some agency website. Have...

After checking out of The Hilton Hawaiian Resort we booked here at a last minute online deal. Without hesitation we checked in to a nice urban style contemporary suite. The room had all modern amenities like a modern studio apartment in New York. the shades were remote controlled and the view of the street and city at night was awesome. We were on the 17th floor. We opted for a suite because it offered a kitchen with microwave and dishes, pots and pans everything essential. We had been in Hawaii for almost 2 weeks so we decided to budget food and cook in an apartment style suite that this hotel offered. Hands down it saved us a ton of money and was a much nicer room than at the Hilton (STYLE WISE). Parking was underneath the building and valet would bring us the car when we went out to explore the island. The staff was helpful and the price was right. The hotel was comfortable and quiet. I would stay here again based on the amenities alone. We loved it.

Room Tip: Choose or ask about a upgrade to a suite if available. One that is a apartment style with Kitchenet...

I believe for a delux room i was expecting at least a better television. Or a mirror closet doors, so our clothes are not exposed to the maids cleaning the room. Also, on the bottom of door there should be a rubber blocker so lighting from hallway isn't a shinning in the hotel room. Overall, experience my stay was calm and relaxing.

We booked five mths prior trip for three rooms one being the Penthouse room. There was some confusion with rooms given on booking and what was given. No real answer was given but we assert aimed the room was being renovated. A simple direct answer would have prevent some stress with my husband on our first day. Once this was over come the rooms were comfortable roomy for the children and staff most helpful. Penthouse room a lot smaller than expected but still enjoyable. Position of the hotel ideal for a family. A pleasant walk across Fort Derussy parkland to the beach. Still a comfortable and easy walk to the centre of Waikiki strip. Some traffic noise on Friday nights.

Room Tip: Ensure ocean view room floors 11upwards are the best.
