“Very busy - rooms very basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

When we arrived we thought we were at a Las Vegas Hotel - it has a lobby with a constant stream of people coming and going - and the warm breeze from the sea wafting through. Their is an inner lift lobby where the 12 or so lifts are. I just could not get over how many people were always around. Our room on the 21st floor was spacious but very sparse and very basic - no frills. You pay a resort charge for the 2 x 500ml bottled water and Wifi.
The 2 pools were always very busy - we never managed to get to sit by the infinity adults pool - you are packed together like sardines - we preferred the family pool area - but again can get quite crowded - would hate to be there at high season. We went to the beach infront of the hotel a couple of times as it was a lot less crowded - but did not sit on the hotels loungers - they wanted 50$ for the day! took a few towels form the hotel pool to lie on - I think that should have been included in the resort charge!
The sea was allot warmer than the swimming pools.
The hotel is located right in the centre of all the shopping - as long as you want top brand designer clothes - Hermes/Gucci/Chanel/Louis Vuitton or Hawaian shirts....if you want to go shopping then take the bus to Ala Moana Shopping Centre - it is an enormous centre about 15 mins bus ride with a huge Macy's, Neiman Marcus and all the brands.
The weather on Waikiki was always pretty good - even when the forecast was for rain or cloudy - it seems to have a climate all of its own - sunny and clear. look behind the city towards the mountains and you will see clouds and dark looking clouds.
There was a problem with the main water main in Honolulu when we were staying so was without water for most of one day - the hotel handed out hundreds of bottled water - and kept us informed by a central speaker system.

Ok, this was our 4th trip (maybe 5th, who can remember?). The hotel has the best location in Waikiki..close to the beach, close to all the shops and in the middle of some great restaurants. The hotel decor is ok, not the best but then most hotels in Waikiki are casual. The rooms are always clean, functional and spacious. The bed is always very comfy but the sheets do tend to ruffle up after only 1 night's sleep.

Anyway, the best part is the adults only pool...it really does rock. They have changed to yellow beanbags (used to be orange) and the bean count has been increased so they are nice and 'plump' and keep me afloat no issue. Stayed 2-11 April and simply floated every day! Floated in the pool, floated at the beach..just floated. Now what is new to us was JONES. He is essentially the pool host, looking after people, dropping by with frozen grapes, wet towels (suggest this occurs in the early afternoon when hotter) and generally ensuring that everything goes smoothly. The pool attendants are better than before - they do try to keep the non hotel guests out of the pool but this is always a challenge. Now, back to JONES. He was fabulous and simply had a proactive attitude to looking after us all. Now, I understand that he is acting in the role and my not get the role permanently. Kelly - WHAAT???. Appoint the man already (and he needs to keep his seniority). He really does make the difference. The pool has always been a great part of our stay at the SW, but Jones just makes it even better. Big shout out to Corina who looked after us at check in. Try not to get a room near RUM FIRE as it gets very noisy especially Fri/Sat up to 1am. Until next visit.......

Room Tip: Avoid low floor near Rum Fire..great view but very noisy at late night Sat/Sun

Went april 2015 and loved it. Customer service is great everyone is friendly. The beach is a 3 min walk, they have a fun pool w/slide for the kids and infinity pool to relax for adults with bar service. The view from the room was breath taking. The stores to shop are 5 min walking distance as well, cant wait to go back.

Experienced 1 fabulous week at the Sheraton Waikiki in an ocean front king bedded room. Wow what a view from our room! Breathtaking sweeping views of the beach out to Diamond Head. The room was well appointed, roomy for 2 people, comfortable bed and great balcony. Excellent amenities, 2 pools and a good selection of restaurants and speciality shops. Great position and close to everything. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: High floor, ocean front

We stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki in March 2015. We had some amazing days around the Infinity Pool. Our days at the pool were made even better because of the great customer service from Jonesy. Make sure you ask Jonesy for the frozen grapes and cool face cloths on those beautiful Hawaiian days. Thanks Jonsey for the great days around the pool with me, my wife, my teenage boys and niece!

I stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki In 2011, with my Mom, were originally from Waikiki and returned for a girls only escape. The rooms are fairly basic (all rooms in Hawaii are - think wicker furniture) the rooms were very clean and I had a great view from the lanai, I couldn't fault the location, beach front access was fantastic and the beach view from the pool were amazing! The staff were friendly and helpful the entire time.
