“Fine if attending a convention”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

Foolishly I did not take note of all the reviews on TA & booked here because of the infinity pool. Check in was fine, but 10pm. State of room cleanliness average. City view room, so VERY noisy. The infinity pool is great, but impossible to get a lounger unless one goes to the pool at 5am & puts dibs on one. It appeared there were many people who did that, but never actually used the pool. Had to ask for towels & cups to be replenished, as the dirty ones had been taken so couldn't even re-use. The bathroom had not been cleaned prior to our arrival & after informing House keeping of this it was then done regularly. Would I stay here again - No. I paid a premium for the pool & not having to cross the road to get to the beach. It wasn't worth it.

Stayed here with a friend last year, I dont think I can fault this place. Had great service from all the staff, the room was nice, modern and clean, and if you are like me I like taking all the freeby lotions and bodywashes home, and they were renewed every day!! Spent hours down at the Infinity Pool watching the turtles swimming by, and chatting to randoms looking at us living the high life, thank you so much for keeping this pool kidfree!! We did a hula lesson with a lovely lady which was free and so much fun! Also made the most of the free phonecalls and wi-fi while we were there. We didnt eat any meals at the hotel as they were out of my budget, but because of its good location we just walked to get supplies at the local ABC or in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Centre foodcourt. This place is my paradise, definitly worth staying here if you can afford it.

Run!!! Don't walk!! If you aRe looking for a genuine relaxing Hawaiian vacation, you will not find it here. Particularly, the front desk staff here are extremely rude and will go out of their way to make you feel most unwelcomed, especially if you are a Platinum status SPG member. As many reviewers have pointed out on other forums, this is the ONLY Starwood property that doesn't care about your Platinum status. There is no warmth or Hawaiian spirit here, they just basically want to process you and get you out of the way and if you try to ask for service, not only will you get shunned but the vindictive front desk female staffers will go out of their way to alert the others on their walkies to make sure they don't help you. I really noticed a difference in friendliness between the male and female staff here. We checked out after one night and they were indifferent when we told them it was due to the horrible treatment from staff. No apology, Not even a peep from management! They cater to the masses of Japanese tourists (tour buses) and as some other reviewer put it, mid-aged/mid-west trashy loud Spring breaker types with really bad bright red lobster tans who have clearly passed their prime. "There's Something About Waikiki". The staff and clientele here have absolutely no class whatsoever.

The pool looks great in the pictures, but reality is, you will not get a chair if you're not up at 6am to save one.

The rooms are horrible - dirty, small and very old. The so-called renovations were minor, just a newer looking bed and putting up a flat paneled LCD tv does not constitute 'major renovations'. The bathroom was so old, small and smelled like pee and the toilet was still dirty when we got into our room!! I have attached a photo for your amusement. Even the closet was bigger than the washroom!

The nail in the coffin was the $30 resort fee they charge you for crappy wi-fi & using their pool, etc. A cash grab indeed.

Nice pool, nice bar, and nice views of Diamond Head and city. Would stay here if I were to come to Waikiki again. It's next to the beach. It's great to have an ocean view from your room. There pool is build next to the ocean, often you can see turtles in the ocean by the pool.

Room Tip: All rooms are good

There wasn't much of a beach but there was easy access to the Sheraton Royal Hawaiian which did have a big beach. Numerous nice pools. Great view of Diamond Head. We had a room looking west over the city toward Punch-bowl interesting watching it rain on the hillside while being in the sunshine.

Nice pool, nice bar, and nice view! It's my NO.1 choice if I were to come to Waikiki again.
It's next to the beach. It's great to have an ocean view from your room. There pool is build next to the ocean, feeling like swimming in the ocean.

The Sheraton Waikiki at 2255 Kalakua Avenue, Honolulu a beautiful large and well appointed hotel, right on the beach at Waikiki, with very good access.
hen we arrived, tiered and grumpy after a 30 hour flight, we were greeted with the welcome news, we had been upgraded to an Ocean Front Suite on the 18th floor and this had an unrestricted view along the beach to Diamond Head
The staff were really helpful and friendly but as we had mostly pre-paid our meals through a Globus Tour package, we were sheltered from the costs of meals in the Kai Market, and didn't find out just how much they charged even for breakfasts, until we returned from our cruise.
If you want to conserve funds for spending on your self, rather than wasting on food which, lets face it you only rent anyway, I suggest you pop round the corner to, Denny's,at 205 Lewers St. The food is consistently good, service excellent, and most importantly, the cost is very reasonable.

Room Tip: The breakfast is excellent, but way too expensive unless you are going to eat an enormous amount of...
