We stayed at Queen Kapiolani from April 3 to the 9th and had a room with a great view of diamond head and the zoo!We also seen a bit of the ocean. The hotel is beautiful and our room was better then I expected. It was a perfect size for the 2 of us and was extremely clean.I enjoyed sitting on the lanai and listening to the zoo animals. You can hear the animals in the morning so if this would bother you you need to request a room not facinf diamond head. The staff were all friendly, always saying hi and asking if everything was ok.I would highly recommend this hotel.

The staff at this hotel were lovely and I could not fault them! The location is great. Pretty much next to Waikiki beach, near diamond head, next to the Zoo. Walking distance of Waikiki strip.
We had the cheapest type of room, it had no balcony (which I regret) We could see the elephant enclosure in the zoo from our window which was pretty cool, but not the sea, or diamond head.
The room was clean, but so so worn and tired. It is in desperate need of a refurb.
We didn't go in the pool so I cannot comment on the pool area.
We did go to the bar for a drink once and there was ZERO atmosphere so we did not go again! This was not hard tho with so many great places nearby.
Breakfast was amazing!!
Probably would stay again but would make sure I had a sea view room

Aloha! Thank you for sharing your recent experience while staying at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. It was wonderful to hear that the staff were lovely and you could not fault them. That the location is great, 1 short block from world famous Waikiki Beach and with a majestic view of Diamond Head.

The room you booked was our Standard category and to enjoy the amazing views we have, we recommend the Ocean View category. Then you will have a view of the ocean and iconic Diamond Head.

We are definitely looking at ways to improve our product and assure you that during your next visit, our rooms will be spruced up. If I may be of assistance, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

We stayed in a corner room on 17th floor with a great view of Diamondhead, which is a short drive.. We were less than a block from the beach. The beach gets very crowded the more you walk down the beach toward all the other hotels, but this beach is not as crowded.

Hotel staff very friendly, especially the valet people. Great show one night in restaurant and good breakfast. Had a wonderful stay in a beautiful area. Convenient to restaurants, shopping and beach. Right across from a zoo if you bring children.

Room Tip: A corner room with a view of Diamondhead!

Aloha! Thank you for commenting on our Great Location with a great view of world famous
Diamond Head. Many of our visitors feel the same as they gaze upon the this iconic Waikiki landmark that the first European gazed upon at they landed on the beautiful shores of Waikiki.

Another aspect we are most proud is the recognition of the Staff being very friendly, especially the Valet people, who set the tone for our guest as they drive up to the majestic
Queen Kapiolani Hotel.

Again, Thank You, and if I can be of any assistance on your next visit, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

My daughter will be attending grad school at UH in the fall, so we traveled from California to spend a few days on Oahu exploring the campus. We chose Queen Kapiolani based upon TA reviews, and it was a great choice. Micah greeted us warmly at the front desk, and he was extremely helpful. We asked about good Indian restaurants in the area, and he steered us to Maharany which was excellent! Queen Kap is very fortunate to have Micah on the staff ! The location of the hotel was perfect for us, close to the beach and across the street from the zoo. We loved hearing the animals waking up in the morning. The room was clean and just the right size for the two of us. The maintenance staff was attentive and came up to help immediately when we experienced a brief power outage in our room. We stayed on the 7th floor and it was quiet and had a small balcony looking out toward Diamond Head.

Room Tip: Get a room 7th floor or higher.

Aloha! Thank you very much for your wonderful comments in regards to the great location and helpful staff. Of course we are so proud of our employees for reaching out to our visitors so that they may enjoy the wonders of Hawaii.

We are definitely fortunate to have Micah, for his caring and sincerity is what Queen Kapiolani advocated during her life here in beautiful Hawaii. We are glad that you found the other employees just as responsive such as Maintenace and that you found the room very clean upon servicing by Housekeeping.

If we may be of assistance during your next visit, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

We recently moved to Hawaii and stayed here for 45 days til our home was ready, and we are a family of 4. We had a room with kitchenette, separate bedroom and 1.5 bath. We had a spectacular view pf Diamond Head and the beach. The room was great, 700 sq ft and very clean. Beautiful pool and grill, plus a yummy ice cream shop. Location is close to Diamondhead and within walking distance of all of Waikiki sights. The BEST part was the amazing staff. We felt like family from day 1 and grew very fond of several of the staff...Kevin, Shane and Stason, Jaredvat the bell desk, Brandon, Layne, Atta, Dustin at the valet station...all of the "boys" became family to us! They went above and beyond every day and i looked forward to seeing our hotel family.I recommend this hotel to any island visitors!

My fiance and I (we got engaged on our trip at this hotel) just returned from a great vacation on Oahu and completed our stay at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. We stayed on the 11th floor in a junuior suite and the room was spectacular. The room had a corner balcony that overlooked the ocean, diamond head, the park, and was absolutely breathtaking. We spent mornings watching people walk out on the pier and evenings having a drink overlooking diamond head. The bedding was comfortable and the shower had the best water pressure that I've ever experienced at a hotel. The maid service was exceptional, the valet staff was accomodating, and the hotel itself has a mystique and a historical feel when you walk up to it at night and see the light beam showcasing the name and the palm trees wrapped in lights. The hotel has a great location to Waikiki, and surrounding areas. We had a rental car and we found the location perfect in terms of accessbility to get out of Waikiki and to the freeway or other locations. Additionally we walked the beach and the strip a few times while visiting and our room was always just a hop skip and a jump away from where we were and in a location that aloud us to feel a bit close to everything but still a bit secluded. Thank you for the great memory of my engagement!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor.

We stayed here in July 2012. Location was good...close to shopping & restaurants as well as directly across from very nice swimming lagoon :) The terrace with pool has a beautiful view of Diamond Head but the rooms need to be modernized & one elevator was broken the entire time we were there :( The staff is very helpful, the price is right....this property just needs some TLC to bring it back to her former glory!

Room Tip: Ask for a rooms with Ocean view :)
