“This was the worse hotel I have ever stayed at.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

Me and my family picked this hotel cause it looked great on the website and it was affordable... When we got here it looked nice at first and than we got to our hotel room... It smelled horrible. We couldnt even walk on the floor without shoes cause the floor was so gross. The bathroom was small and had ants in it. When we took a shower and the tub was clogged and wouldn't drain. Found a cockroach in our room. And to top it all off people were partying around us and were loud all night.. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Nice Affordable room close to everything.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We stayed at the Pagoda for three nights. It is an older hotel and renovations are in progress in various places. Everything in our room was clean and comfortable. Having a fridge and microwave was very convenient for us.We were able to buy food at the Walmart just around the corner from the hotel. The Ala Moana mall and beach/ park are within walking distance. Staff are very friendly and make guests feel welcome. The rate for a room with kitchenette was about one hundred dollars, which is a great deal for Honolulu.

“Perfect location! Clean and friendly staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013 via mobile

The Pagoda is a nice hotel in a great location. If you want to get away from the crowded Waikiki streets, stay here. Or room on the tenth floor was very clean, didn't smell and everything worked. The service is great, as well. You are always greeted by the staff. You are close to all of the major bus stops and only a fifteen minute walk from Waikiki. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. We were there for two weeks.

“Huge room, good price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We stayed in the one bedroom with kitchenette. The room was huge, and the price was good. In order for that to happen, pretty much everything else gets compromised. Furniture is crappy, there is cracked, stained linoleum in the bathroom, the towels are thin and scratchy, the corridor smelled funny, etc. However, if what you want is an clean enough economical place to stay with room for a bunch of people, then this fits the bill.

The restaurant was fun with the gardens and koi. The food is OK quality but kind of expensive. Room service was one of the extras I missed -- with time differences and jet lag it would have been very nice to get a meal or two delivered.

I usually stay in nicer hotels and found the compromises a bit frustrating. But hey, it's a perfectly fair value for the price, and made an expensive vacation closer to affordable. Those nicer hotels are going to be two or three times the cost of this place. If you understand what you're getting into and value economy and space, it's a good choice.

“Old stanby”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

This is the old,old hotel for locals to stay. There are renovations ongoing and it is convenient to Ala Moana shopping center. The bus terminal is at the center so most of Oahu is at your finger tips. The resturant was closed for breakfast. This used to be a good morning treat and we disappointed .street noise is minimal and they do have a small pool on site. Rooms are minimal and have aged but ours was clean. Prices are moderate for Waikaki. I will stay again.
